Everytime that Slashdot dupes a story and I load up the homepage, I get this weird feeling, much worse than deja vu:P Like I just got sucked back a few days.. or in this case, a few hours
On CowboyNeal / Timothy days, I feel like that all damn day.. talk about net-lag
Is anybody else as sick of these "designers" as I am? Loius Vitton ( however you spell it ) just takes shit, and puts his initials on it, then sells it for $400 per purse. I should paste AK all over something and markup the price 500% too:P
Well yeah, I never said that/.'s HTML was correct, but the bug itself is a condition in Firefox that involved table overflows and painting. Sometimes Gecko would try to render the table without receiving all the data ( slow connections mostly ) and it would cause the weird overflow problem.
Personally, I've never seen it, but I'm on cable, so the whole page loads all at once.
Before anyone evens grabs the oblig. "Yeah but it still can't display Slashdot right!!oneone!1" post, the fix is in the pipeline for 1.1. And it's a race condition with Firefox, not with/.
From the Flag Code:
"A Flag may be a flimsy bit of printed gauze, or a beautiful banner of finest silk. Its intrinsic value may be trifling or great; but its real value is beyond price, for it is a precious symbol of all that we and our comrades have worked for and lived for, and died for-a free Nation of free men, true to the faith of the past, devoted to the ideals and practice of Justice, Freedom and Democracy. "

Every fucking Firefox article we have, someone starts bitching about how Slashdot doesn't render correctly in FF, and we have to endure 18 posts of "OMG THEY R STILL USING TABLES AND NOT CSS" and "It's a FF bug dumbass".
THIS HAS BEEN FIXED, SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT IT ALREADY
Firefox 1.1 will have the fix in the trunk, they backed it out because it was breaking other sites, that's why it wasn't in FF1.0. It's a race condition, and it's been fixed, end of story.

A fox news Alert. A major capture in the war on terror. Fox news confirmed that a senior aide to Iraq's most wanted terrorist has been captured. The man who has Ben working with Abu-musab Al-zarqawi is said to be responsible for 30 or more car bombings. Freezing temperatures and thousands left without power."
See, catching terrorists causes freezing temperatures and thousands left without power. This will be great to grab the latest soundbytes from when Newscasters completely blow their commentary.. Like the woman that said that President Clinton may have been gay, when she meant to say Lincoln.
Seems like they might have something up their sleeve.
It would be nice to see them have to strip WMP and IE out of Windows, or at least preload Firefox and Opera on Windows along with IE. My friend just recently was ranting about "WHY in GODS NAME do I need to have Windows Media Player EMBEDDED into my server??"*
*Disclaimer: I've never used any Windows based servers, and I haven't used Windows period since 1999, so I don't know if you can pull WMP out or anything.
Say what you want about KDE, but after playing with 3.3, I finally made the switch from GNOME to KDE. I especially like the level of integration in between apps, the transparency settings for menus and applications, and KDevelop. Gnome is awesome too, especially 2.8, but KDE just seems to have more polish to it.
Good research, I'm Christian and I never really thought about it like that. It's good to see an actual insightful religious post on Slashdot, as opposed to the usual "Christians are retards LOL"
Why is it that the US is all gungho about a world economy and taking over every 3rd world country out there, but then when it starts to happen and our job market spreads out, they cry foul and pump up the patriotism?
I'm going to go write a blog post about what Joel should do with his life: Stop rehashing software with his shitty company and stop acting like he's God's gift to computing. Sod off.

That part just made me laugh out loud.
Clippy "It looks like you're trying to understand my masters doodles, would you like some help?"
Researcher "No"

I wouldn't hold your breath for that one :P

At least they didn't name it something crazy to make a "user friendly" acronym like "DONTSTEAL" or something equally absurd like PATRIOT act.
I think actually that would be considered a splatter :P

I'd say they have a lot of stuff that we don't even know about yet. Or maybe they're working on new "internets" ;)

Nice, make sure you say your prayers before you go to sleep to night and thank Uncle Sam for locking up those horrible baby killing drug users.
Fucking straightedgers
The record companies should stop making CD's, that way, there is no WAY anyone can steal the music from them!
If Joel supports it, it must be awesome! Joel can suck a cock
FUCK THEM
Fuck Microsoft, pieces of fucking shit
