Damn, I'm glad someone finally cleared that up for me! Now I can say that an AC on a website has solved the vexing question of whether or not a soul exists!
I work at a call center here in my hometown ( I'm in college, it's not my fault ) and we have a line group dedicated to things like AT&T ( now.. Cingular I believe ) customer support and the like.
The biggest problem with the line group is that ANYONE can be on it. If you can read at a 5th grade level, type at 10 wpm, and spell decently, you're on. I've heard all sorts of horror stories from the team leaders of people sitting there for 10 minutes going "umm... umm.. I don't really know.. let me give you a different number, maybe they will know.."
If call centers like ours would raise the bar on entry requirements and actually train the agents better, I'm sure we'd see less complaints.
... what would have happened if during the invention of the telephone, they all became put off and declared "Voice over Wires DOA" just because the 2nd test wasn't perfect.
It's not like this is as good as it's every going to get. If that was true, EVERYTHING would suck.
Mostly I'm leaning towards Fedora because I'm most familiar with the setup of RedHat machines, and would be able to help them out better if something came along.
I think they'll be able to use gnome 2.6 without a problem, they just it to surf the net and for paperwork stuff.
"This is the final test release, so please help us nail things down."
My RedHat 9 system has just been slowly dying over the past bit, and I really want to get Fedora Core 2 on my new computer ( which is still missing RAM and a HD ). Pretty preeeety please let the final release come in May. Not only will I be able to upgrade/install it, I finally convinced my folks to let me slap Linux on their Dell desktop, and I want to go with Fedora ( for the sake of knowing how the ins and outs of RedHat already )
Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within was a pretty ok movie. I mean, it wasn't based directly off the FF games ( as each one changes drastically anyway ), but it was still an overall good movie.
My biggest complaint was the voice acting sucked in parts, but seeing as how it WAS 100% computer gen, and we've yet to have a perfectly scripted game as well, it's a small oversight.
GMail looking inside e-mails? Isn't this just doing the same thing?
Exactly. How much do you want to bet that the media will dub this "the music industrys answered prayer" while pounding GMail for "scanning our personal private emails to advertise.. FOR SHAME"
Flash only + Shitty band? MY EYES
"...inserts Java scripts into certain websites.."
Java is scriptable now? I thought it was dying?
"Oh yeah, and btw...souls dont exist."

Those of you in the 2%, raise your hand! Pay no attention to the man with the video recorder in the back of the room
"Pornography web filtering available?: Yes ( Linspire ) No ( Mandrake ) No ( Fedora )"
I'm thinking a big no on Linspire.

"In July 2002, the Credits file contained information on 418 developers. With two exceptions, all were male "
2 female types listed in the credits file? With contact information? Time to do a little research of my own...
Don't worry, I'm the only one that gets marked redundant for using those stupid in Soviet Russia jokes, whilst everyone else gets a +5
"In PlayStation 3, TV props you!"
In Slashdot In Soviet Russia In Jokes make fun of YOU
"You have portrayed the ideal search engine as one resembling the intelligence of the Starship Enterprise.."

A:"Had to get home to read Slashdot"
Q:"How in the world do you know that we can save this boy by injecting him with X68-9??"
A:"Saw it on Slashdot"

Nice how you were modded Insightful for insulting someone for their personal beliefs.

In other news today, Darl McBride received a strange packet marked "code review", with a post-it note attached that simply read "PWNED"
How will it know which virus to run first?
As your sig implies, no, you don't have a clue about what death metal music is.
Penn State University isn't on there? And WVU ( West Virginia Univ ) is???? Maybe I should have stayed in WV...
