See, whenever people talk about being scared of ghosts I simply say "Well, if there ARE ghosts, and the bastard kills me, then I'm going to beat his ass on the other side when I get there"
All of his submissions (minus one or two) were simply links to his blog to generate traffic/revenue, rather than passing us directly to the news source.
Don't let the name fool you. This is less a "FAT" file system than FAT32 was to FAT16. It barely resembled anything FAT AT ALL. Long file names are different. Storage is different. The boot sector layout is different. File entries are different.
A snippet from wikipedia (since I can't find a link to the specification right now):
exFAT is an incompatible replacement for FAT file systems that was introduced with Windows Embedded CE 6.0. It is intended to be used on flash drives, where FAT is used today. Windows XP file system drivers will be offered by Microsoft shortly after the release of Windows CE 6.0, while Windows Vista Service Pack 1 added exFAT support to Windows Vista. exFAT introduces a free space bitmap allowing faster space allocation and faster deletes, support for files up to 2^64 bytes, larger cluster sizes (up to 32 MB in the first implementation), an extensible directory structure and name hashes for filenames for faster comparisons. It does not have short 8.3 filenames anymore. It does not appear to have security access control lists or file system journaling like NTFS, though device manufacturers can choose to implement simplified support for transactions (backup file allocation table used for the write operations, primary FAT for storing last known good allocation table).
Let me clue you into something. Making that many assumptions and coming to an absolute conclusion like you have is way past an undesirable trait.
In this particular case, you exhibit what I call the "Not a bug" syndrome. You know... when you file a bug report and rather than give it a real examination, you get the response "Works for me, it must be you". It is short-sighted, stubborn, elitist, and flat out stupid. It shows both a lack of analytical and social skills.
~2.5 million hits. Pages and pages and pages, starting with the very first link, without gap, of people unable to get Diablo 2 to work with vista (and possible workarounds). So riddle me this... in this case, which do you think is more likely? That you are a friggin genius and have every right to be an asshole, or you are just being a run of the mill retard and that the original poster actually had problems?
You don't need to answer that. We all know the answer already.
Where in gods name did they mention ANYTHING about optimizing/configuring ANYTHING? I hope to god you have nothing to do with the government or law enforcement.
Your gap of logic can be only classified as schizophrenic.
I have been a fan of yours forEVER!!!! Being the son of God must be really exciting!!! Please send me your email address so we can keep in touch!!!!!!!
In the scheme of things, while windows malware (I assume this is what you speak of) is an easy vector, it isn't the only vector. Plain and simple fact is, not everyone who uses a computer is competent, even when they should be (The same goes for car mechanics, doctors, etc).
Here is a really easy way to root a few Unix(like) boxes. Scan for some FTP servers. Log in and spider the directories. Can you make a file that has the executable bit set? Great! Do some fingerprinting to figure out what OS it is (this may not be necessary), upload an executable, then run it. You will be surprised at what said process can now access.

Yes, the main sleeping ingredient in Tylenol PM (Diphenhydramine) is a dopamine antagonist. What this means is, it attacks dopamine receptors, and keep them from receiving the dopamine that they would get during normal awake functioning. Most antipsychotics can fall under this umbrella. And just like antipsychotics, it can cause Tardive_dyskinesia which I call "The crazy twitch" (You know... the twitch that stereotypical crazies have). This is incurable.
Not much really. It will make their models of the effect of solar storms a small fraction of a percentile more accurate, but it is nothing the lay man should even care about.
Seriously... if you do your encryption right, it doesn't matter who is in-between. Have the initial transfer between both of them be a public end of a PGP key. There is no man-in-the-middle attack for that.
It is, but lets be honest. The point of these "virtual world" interfaces is so that an unfamiliar person can use skills they already know to use the computer. When a 65 year old lady tries to use a computer for the first time, it can be strange and overwhelming. If she was able to see and interact with the system in a paradigm that she is already knows how to deal with, the anxiety and reluctance will come way down.
I went to Herndon High School. My stint was from 1993-1997. There was a single room full of typewriters for "typing" class. However, there were probably 20+ rooms full of computers, plus a handful of computers in just about every room. We had a shared T1 link to George Mason University for internet access (before most people ever even heard of it) and personal dedicated shares (and global shares) for our work.
Do you know how hard it is to get any sort of job in an office without any typing skills? I'm not talking something that requires a degree, but something as simple as fetch-the-coffee-for-the-boss to write-an-email-to-reschedule-a-meeting. Typing is a valuable skill that will give you the option between an office job and digging ditches.
Maybe I was really friggin lucky growing up and going to school in Fairfax County, but we had a class on HTML. We had plenty of Pascal, BASIC, and C classes. As a matter of fact, knowing enough BASIC to program your mandatory TI-82 calculator for calculus class was a MUST. We used computers in Physics, Astronomy, hell, even Economics.
Don't hate because you didn't get the opportunity. Love the fact that our children will have it.

Well, for starters, you generally aren't going to gather a crowd when breastfeeding...
Besides, EVERYONE wants to have sex... not everyone wants to watch milk get sucked out of a fat womans nipple.
I think it is about mob control, NOT keeping you from doing what you want.

I still don't see why they're pushing people so hard to upgrade to 3.0.
Because they are going to stop working on that version. I hate to point out the obvious, but this isn't really a complicated question.
