I don't have the 60, i have the 45er. It hasn't died yet but it does suffer from the clicking everyonce and while and i got some data loss along with it. But it hasn't died YET. From what i have heard the problem stems from one of the features that they tout. They cram a crap load of data on one platter, there fore lowering the amount of platters needed, therefore lowering their manufacturing cost. So when the drive heats up data becomes very hard to read and thats where the clicking comes from, the heads are trying to read data over and over *click whirrrr* *click whirrrrr* etc. Just an FYI
Uhhh.... didn't Klipsch sorta take the whole THX certifacation first? Ohh and BTW KLIPSCH v2.400 ROCK! Never have you heard such good speakers. j00 ph33r!

But thats not the point. The point here is how do we get Windows users easily integrated with linux. No offense to the community, but i have found myself, and others, somewhat shunning those who use the dastadly OS. I was once in their shoes and i know how it feels, kinda like you a drowning. Another problem that has creeped up are the Redhat Haters. Let it go guys, its an easier way for people to learn how to us Linux, and eventually they will learn that it sux ass. Man pages are a start, but isn't the goal of all this desktop development to get windows users to put down their microsoft mice and turn to the light with out having them go blind with confusion?
It seems to me that some of the community wants to help win users turn around, while the other part is too condensending to help, they don't want "newbies" to infringe on their Linux fun. This attitude must go if we are to lift Linux from crypticysim, and allow EVERYONE to enjoy its free, configurable, goodness.

Another thing, if you all have noticed that the news posts that are on slashdot are usually viewed through the eyes of a judge. They never make snap judgements, and they give those poor bastards of Microshaft developers some credit. If something is just better (RIGHT NOW DAMN YOU!). Just let it go... you know Open Sourcers 'round the globe will come up with something better. I mean hell mozilla gives me shit about SSL sometimes(SOMETIMES YOU BASTARDS!), where as IE (yes I do run a microbox so's i can plays my games and cuz support for the ol' geforce ain't all that great under linux, and cux work makes me:| ) has not failed with out a hitch, i mean hell i don't think it has crashed in at least a week, where is shmoezilla crashes like Cobain on heroin (sorry bad metaphore, bakspace key brok3n... shit SEE!). But anyway my point is don't be so quick to judge something you haven't tried or tried once and tossed it to the side because it had a Redmond badge on it.

Only for 600 bucks. Your damn right it's gonna beat teh geforce 2, it better for a 600 doller price tag. Hell i want the the thing to tuck me in at night and read me bed time stories for that price. Is anyone besides me sick of paying outrageous prices for small porformance gains. 3dfx is not the only one, Nvidia with the Geforce 2 ultra is also guilty. At least 3dfx makes a product that will last a bit longer than Nvidia's. Hell i still got my voodoo 3 3000 and it still sorta rox.

I think it all comes down to parents. At the age of 12 i was blasting away at Nazi's and such and not thinking anything of it. My parents let me do this because they treated me with enough respect to see that i was mature enough to understand the difference between violence and game violence. While this game is much more detailed than good ol' Wolf it's still pretty easy to see it ain't real. Now grant it i wouldn't let my 8 year old kid go blastin through it but i might let my 11 or 12 year have a go, supervised of course. And i think that it is pretty funny when people get more upset about animal's dying then when people die. I will watch a movie with my girlfriend and she will get very upset if she sees a dog get killed but does not bat an eye if some guy gets chainsawed in the stomach. Now some people might say that animal's don't have any defense and that might be true but you have to ask youself "Who is more important? My dog or my mom (wife, dad, etc.)" I just think people have their priorities screwed up.
If they can do this why in the h-e-double-hockeys-sticks can't they stand togather against that evil company Rambus? But then again maybe this is just the first step in getting them to do just that. Ya never know.

When you see a really good program run under linux it's pretty easy to find out who made it and send em' and e-mail er somthing giving them some props for their work. You look at windows programs and they are all made by faceless developers whose company name takes the credit. I don't know it just seems like Linux developers hold a lot more respect then Winblows developers.

I own the PC Pak'r and i am completely satisfied with it. The laptop part is well padded both front and back, there are many pockets to store all your crap in and if you look hard enough it won't cost you much. Go with eastpack they kick ass.
What ever happend to Glide going open source? I heard they did but after that there was silence. With Unreal Tournament being naitivly Glide accelerated (Unreal was written for glide only in the begining), glide would be nice addition to the linux enviroment.

Would it be illegal? That is the question to ask, if you make copies of a game but do not give to anyone is it illegal? If you can build a DVD from VHS i don't see how Lucasfilm could do anything about it. All your doing is changing the media type just as if you were to take what's on a disk and put it on a CD-R.
Ok kids lets face the facts. Lucas is a dictator, no matter how many people tell him that Jar Jar was a bad idea he is going to keep him in anyway, probably just to spite those who mocked him. Lucas is probably not in it for the money, he has too much as it is, he is just making the movie that HE always wanted to make with out a care for anyone else. The DVD WILL NOT be released until all movies are out, that is probably another one of Lucas' wet dreams.
But it doesn't matter you and i will both be in line to by the box set when it comes out come hell or high water.
The thing that sticks with me the most is at the end when mike is standing in the corner facing the wall, man i could not get that out of my head. And as for the acting top notch and you were right, i saw an interview with the actress in the movie and she said that most of the time she was generally scared, sometimes she really didn't know what was outside that tent.
