This reminds me of a film I saw once called Rendezvous made back in the seventies, I think.
Some guy straps a camera on the front grill of a Ferarri and early in the morning heads through Paris at very high speed (running every streetlight) to meet a hottie on the top of Montmartre at sunrise. The sound of the gear changes and tire squeals as he winds through the city in a blur makes you almost forget how freaking dangerous it must've been for him and the pedestrians (although at that time of day, the streets are much more empty.)
