Serously. Does it have "R-Type" printed on it in brushy letters? Will it help me play Duke Nukem Forever on the Phantom Game Console? Can I make a hat out of them and block the mind control rays?
Give Slackware a go, it's got all the standardized filesystem locations with non of the compile time and many fewer head-wall collisions.

I'd rather see them merge with Agilent, at least that way they'd have someone to commiserate with about the destructive short-term thinking so prevalent in the business world. Oh, and how Carly Fiorina is a total fuckwit but nobody can say it for fear of being labeled a sexist.
Yeah, it's beautiful the way texas has its grid totally seperate from the rest of the country's so they don't have to bow and scrape to FERC. They don't sell across state lines, so the feds can take a flying leap. Good to see someone taking a stand for states' rights in this day and age, especially since the idea became so loaded with racism.
Yeah, since the culture encourages parents to make sure their one child has a penis there's become a pretty wide gap in the male/female population, considering the most likely people to get aids would be prostitutes and their customers it's a great way to restore the population balance.
Apple? RAM? They don't need to bother with a new standard before embarking on exercises in price gouging.... Getting a gig of ram with your mac mini raises the price Three hundred and twenty-five dollars!
Star Trek: The Motion Picture is simply the worst movie of all time. Too many long, pointless effects shots, too much Michael Eisner thinking bald=sexy, not bad enough to have humor value like Plan 9 or Troy.
Well, the way WoW's servers are set up is kind of odd, each "shard" is actually three seperate pieces of hardware. There's one for Kalimdor, one for the Eastern Kingdoms, and one for all the instance dungeons. Battlegrounds will be run on the instance server. This is also why you have a load screen going into places like the stockade.... it's not so much to load the textures and geometry as to cover up the fact that you're jumping servers.
Eh, just do it compaq-style with two super-geeks. One reverse engineers the existing driver and documents the spec, then the other writes drivers from that spec without ever being allowed to look at the original driver
I've been wondering about the possiblity of putting together something like this on a super-miniaturized linux platform for quite a while. I'm envisioning something with a 2-3" screen, Compact Flash, SNES style control pad, TV-out, MAME, SNES, and NES emulators, and a usb port or two for a keyboard add-on. Any EE majors out there looking for a project to impress your advisor, please give this a thought. The biggest problem I've had in trying to spec out the parts is finding a source for the tiny LCD screens.
Yes, the 1.... 2???.... 3: Profit formula is a popular running gag in the same vein as "in soviet russia", "BSD is Dying" and "Stphen King is dead". The original use was in an episode of South Park where underpants gnomes stole a small child's underwear and described their business plan as
Me too, and when people starting asking me about where I got them from (everyone I know gives me their old systems because I'm the "computer guy") I actually sold a few sticks and then branched out by getting a cheap heat gun and making clipboards out of old, desoldered motherboards
Oh yeah? I was born in '85 and started feeling old the minute I realized this year's crop of high school freshmen was born after the gulf war. To think it'll only get worse... (shudder)
It's also well worth the time to check out salvation army-style charity shops in your area. While a long shot, once in a while they'll be donated office equpment by small businesses looking for a tax break. In fact, I'm still recovering from getting this Deal of a lifetime 217,000 page HP Laserjet 5si with jet direct card into my toyota corrola for the ride home. Total cost: Ten US Dollars.
Can someone please tell me WTF that book is about? I just absolutely didn't get it at all.

No, all the photos of the inside have shown very clearly that the ram is a standard 184 pin stick of DDR.
Sometimes the truth hurts.
EA's NBA Street was pretty good. Totally offtopic.

Actually, I've been hearing rumors that the playstation division is more or less keeping Sony afloat at this point....
They should work in any motherboard that'll take a regular athlon XP of the same bus speed, but they're worth more as a set.

Then that would be a work made for hire by {wage slave x y & z} and fall under the 95/120 rule
Love, Big Blue.

Man, you don't hold a grudge very long do you?

If you know any two year old freshmen, more power to you.

DNF? That's a tad optimistic, I've been tossing all the Ghost news in my "Perfect Dark Zero" file.

More like if I you taped the contract to the other side of my door....
