The Lord of the Rings is merely riding on the coat-tails of the Harry Potter phenoma
That's a really silly statement considering that Jackson had been working on the film for 2 years before the first Harry Potter film had ever been written. Tolkien is the father of fantasy. Check out this sweet article in the nytimes.
Let's be frank. It's too damn slow on any CPU. I think Mach (and Hurd) are really great projects, but they appear to be fundementally flawed (messaging+context-switch). I'm very disappointed that the interviewer didn't go into any details on the well-known problems associated with micro-kernel design. Also, I've never heard a really good comparison of the micro-kernel approach vs. the monolithic design with loadable modules (I'm sure there is one; I just haven't heard it). I'd really like to hear the Hurd developer's comments on these issues.
Now let's hope that an Afganhi judge will rule that Yahoo! is not bound by the US ruling that demanded that all fissionable materials be removed from its auction site. It would be a nice suprise to have a sensible ruling come out of a federal court in times like these.
Yes, I think this is funny. (self-entertained individual)
Yeah, I'm confused. I thought C# was basically MS's replacement for Java. Why would developers work with J# since its just another Java look alike that is not Java?
What a crock of sh$t. Lucas paid for the Episode I film and could have cut it any damn way he wanted. This DVD - director's cut - is just a bunch of marketeering BS to get you to buy the DVD even though you thought the film version was tripe bathos.
First off I'd want at least a dual CPU, 803.11b wireless, GigE, raid controller across a handful of micro drives, color plasma display, fold out keypad, 500MB RAM, and UPS with a backup battery.

Not so sure about that. These methods are written entirely in C with no assembly. That means it would be nearly impossible to pace with FORTRAN for certain operations. The accomplishment is impressive here, and I think the GSL is really cool. However, I'd like to see some asm optimizations for just a few platforms, so we can finaly put FORTRAN in the grave.
It never really occurred to me, but I don't ever use "free" windows anymore. My windows are always maximized, and I use a combination of atl-tab and workspace shifting to navigate between them.
I used to have 4 xterms neatly arranged sharing an entire screen, but I haven't done that in a while.
I don't like apps that have framed views which are not easily hidden, such as msdev and kdeveloper. I much prefer an xemacs approach, where I can zap in and out frames as I see fit, with a quick keystroke. Perhaps you can do the same with msdev and kdeveloper, but I'm used to emacs.
The fact that a site gets/.'d doesn't really suprise me, but a site which is about "Massively Multi-Player" suggests it should be able to me "Massively Browsable" as well.
The little bar at the bottom of my screen has the time.
Which also leeds to the question, why do I need to wear pants? My cube desk pretty much covers the lower half of my body.
The 1GB hard drive is the best. Hmm, we'll just put a hard drive in our embedded system slashing its MTBF by about 99%!!!
I think this pretty much seals the deal with RedHat as the defacto Linux distro for the commerical OEMs. What do people think?
I thought the Power PC was x86 compatible.

The sad part is that this guy was driving a car without the OnStar system.

K.I.T. Michael, there's a 40% discount sale at the "Spank Your Pants" Adult Bookstore in that strip mall to the right.
M. Knight Excellent Kit! Go to "pursuit" mode.
What made the original a success:
1. Token 14yr old Japaneese actress.
2. Godzilla could storm in at any moment.
3. Chairman eats a bell pepper follwed by drueling.
One Ring to rule them all,
One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all,
and in the darkness bind them
This is what you get when you hire from the prison system.

Professor Plum and Cournel Mustard deleted the partition in the library with the rope.

While I agree with your points in your letter to Bob, I think you missed the most important point:
Licensing Fee.
Enterprize C# Licensing comes with a nifty $1500 per CPU application royalty.
I've got a Sun StarFire with 104 Sparc III's and 2TB of DRAM sitting in my basement that you can use.
