you cant really block a websiite at firewall level in the eu as there is no infrastructure like that as in china. what can happen which is equally damaging to an online entiry is being slapped with a massive fine each an every day/month the website can be accessed by eu nationals.
The only comparable thing i could think of as well spread in its sector like windows, office and exchange (in enterprise) is cola in the sector of drinks. Probably the same reason why drinks like single malt, champagne etc have a much better fan following than cola. Everyone consumes cola but no one i know swears by them.
what is even more sad that the swastika was an ancient hindu symbolising good health (swast = health in sanskrit). With the present law no hindu in germany will be able to paint the swastika outside their home like they are able to do in india.
you are right with those observations but it is not state repression but the views of the society in general. Changing minds of people isin't easy, it was not too long ago that blacks could't be in the same schools as whites in the usa. Homosexuality is not a punishable crime in the sense that no one has been convicted of it in recent years. On the other hand american prisons are full of gays every one knows;)
not exactly true, english is entrenched in the bureaucracy and industry thanks to the british rule but most of the young people in urban areas (like in any country) are more in touch with the american tv and hollywood culture. An extremely small percentage of people watch/play the same sports (english love football more while indians prefer cricket), go to pubs (only the younger generation since the 90s) and are christian (less than 2% of the population) in India.
i think thats rather unfair. sharp's pdas are successful in japan. It is too much of a coincidence that sharp, sony, toshiba all have very nice pdas but do not sell well in europe/usa and have pulled out(almost). just calling it a marketing failure is not right its probably more of a cultural thing.
There were other reasons for this. The employees at MLA were earning lot more than the average salary and not producing enough. A friend of mine working there was fired and then rehired for much less.
not entirely true, she not only had the people's mandate but also all the supporting parties had no objection to her becoming the pm.
it was really her choice this time. Some sections (read educated elite) would have been disappointed but they really dont count much in a country of a billion.
i personally think her move was smart.
Lack of safety claims may be baseless. There have been deaths related to the US space mission you know.
>>In India, human lives aren't considered very valuable.
as opposed to USA, UK, Italy,... which doesn't care much about middle eastern humans, oh! maybe they aren't human at all.
I wonder which countries indulged and profited by the slave trade.
>> The indians I spoke with all said the same thing, when I asked them if they weren't concerned with a nuclear war: "So they drop the bomb on us, and 50 million people die. Big deal, we're still a billion people.
could you list the demographics of the people you spoke with. You couldn't have spoken with more than 100 people so you are basing your inferences on statements heard from 1/10000000 of the population.
hey atleast you managed an insightful mod
as the article said the total cost of India's space program is $500 Million while that of the USA is $12.5 Billion.
If you really want India to spend less on space research why not convince the USA to give India all the knowledge gained from their research. Hey, why not make it all public knowledge accessible to all the countries in the world.
As for the Moon rock does any country with a space programme really need that information
actually that figure would be more like 7.50*5=37.50. The World Bank shows that the GNI per capita for India is 2,880$ with purchasing power parity (PPP) as opposed to simple dollar figure of 530 showing a multiple of approx 5.
not true as can be seen here the number of tvs in india equals 63 million for a 1000 million people.
as shown here in india the reach for non-cable tv is 42% while for urban areas its 69% and rural is 33%
the cryogenic technology used to build rockets to send satellites are pretty much not shared by most countries who have them.
india has managed to develop most of it on their own and join a select band of 6 countries.
so you are saying usa has to spend the money cause they are responsible for a new world order.
i wonder who were the last guys to use such justifications Hint...think swastika.
It seems that google doesnt even spider more than 10% of the content in the web. My own homepage is not in google's sight. Google is probably not the sum of all human knowledge.
Anyways every company has to adhere to the laws of the country they want to do business in. Changing this fact could have an even more disastrous effect. We could try and change chinese laws instead;)

though this article does highlight India's r&d other countries like brazil and china are also doing quite a bit of research in these areas
