As I (in the Netherlands) still have the right to make a copy for personal use, this is a ridiculous proposal. I have NO illegal mp3's. All the music on my player, I have already paid for.
There are allready taxes (small, but they are there anyway) on CDR(W) tapes etc... for the same purpose. People should start demanding those taxes back when they can prove that they burned data/audio on it they have either already paid for or does not require any payments (backups, linux distro etc). Better yet... remove these taxes altogether... as they are demonstrating the hideous way the world is turning into : a 'firewall' concept. Deny everyone, not only the 'bad' people, but also the good), and let the good people demand access, then grant them access.
People are not computers. Rules (Laws) should be trying to prevent or punnish bad things, not to hinder good things.
Put extra money into catching the bad guys, but don't get to much in the way of the good guys.
I don't have anything to hide, but that doesn't mean you can invade my privacy.
I don't have illegal music, so don't tax me like I do.
Hopefully, the 32bit flash plugin for internet explorer won't work, so macrodobe has a good reason to start working on a 64bit version... that will probably ease the step towards a 64bit linux plugin as well.
Netherlands as well... they almost all use wma streams, so I can't listen to it on my amd64 linux box without jumping through hoops to compile some audioplayer in 32bit so it can use windows codecs. So I don't listen... but that's ok... their sites usually contain flash as well and there is no good 64bit flash plugin for firefox.
The newer your pc... the less things you can do... it wasn't supposed to be like this right???;-)

Well.. if you think they are not treating the software engineers fairly... let a rumour go out that the software is used for weapons of mass destruction and some nearby country will bomb 'em.
When I read the headline and noticed PBX I was thinking about Lego Mindstorms. Guess my mind was in bad weather to... as Mindstorms has a RCX not a PBX.

The main difference appears to be that AACS can revoke an entire player model if a hack appears against it
So hacks appear which let the players identify themselves as a non-hackable model....
This does not let met see thru the complete monitor.. it make me look at the insides of it !
