The (valid) concerns some are posting on how Tivo could react to this seem to make the idea of an "open source" PVR box (with some sort of dialup for scheduling data) even more palatable. -- OliverWillis.Com
More than ever, games are cross console. Aside from "house" staples like Mario and Final Fantasy. Games tend to come out on Nintendo/Sony/Sega systems simulatenously. Look at EA! -- OliverWillis.Com
As much as I hate the cable monopolies, they've got their act much more together than the DSL ninnies. By coincidence I ended up with DSL from Pacbell and Cable from @Home/Adelphia simultaneously. What a world of difference. DSL was sluggish with speed bursts and the service terrible. Cable was up and running in a couple hours, no problem with speed of about 1.5 for a year now.... -- OliverWillis.Com
While I don't doubt Packer loyalty, they have one of the smallest stadiums in the league and rank at best in the middle of the league in revenue. -- OliverWillis.Com
I've thought of this, with an application to individuals. I call it True Human Capital, where you invest directly in people with hope of a future return. In theory you could create a "mutual fund" for an open source project and contribute to the people involved that way. Would it work? I'm not sure. -- OliverWillis.Com
America played as big a role as any other European country in winning the war, casualties be damned. We're not stopping them from making movies about their heroes.
Like it or not, America was a HUGE part of winning WW2 - whether Europe likes to admit it or not. -- OliverWillis.Com
America was not the global superpower we are now and was recovering from a depression. War was the last thing American people wanted. -- OliverWillis.Com
So a simple dissent is a troll? I'm asking an actual question.
I know a lot of you love the books, but put that aside and look at the movie. It looks hokey. Elijah Wood? Come on. I really cannot understand why the "geek/nerd" community is jonesing for this movie so hard? Matrix 2, Spider-Man I can understand. But why this? -- OliverWillis.Com

The UI/user experience needs a lot of help. On windows, it should load as an activex-type control- the more seamless the better. And if things could be handled by the browser, as if there were no Swarmcast component - I think this has the potential to kick butt... -- OliverWillis.Com
How about controlling the news and entertainment, then owning the means to distribute that information, then only promoting your properties on that platform? Scary stuff. -- OliverWillis.Com
The school had a rule, the kid broke it. Parents are responsible for teaching their kids not to break rules - law. Now that their son is dead, they still won't accept responsibility and pass it on to the school district. People need to take responsibility for their actions... -- OliverWillis.Com
I've recently written a breakdown of a proposal for how much time people "pay" advertisers, and how a similar exchange could be worked out, exchanging attention for web enjoyment...
See people, AOL is the real enemy here. Within their walled garden they want you to only see AOL/Time Warner properties - "screw the rest of 'em" is now job one, more than ever. "Synergy" is one thing, this is a whole other ball o' wax. -- OliverWillis.Com
Google uses Dmoz as a pagerank source. Just submit your site through Google's forms, I've had stuff listed within 1-2 days.
I have a fictional blog of my own, starring the one and only Britney Spears...
Do you remember the series Damage Control about the people who cleaned up after superhero-related damage?
Read this comment. Realize that you are as guilty in this instance of the FUD you accuse MS of. Do the right thing and ammend/correct the story.

You had me going there until you said Superman wasn't a good movie. What brand of crack are you smoking? It is the perfect comic movie. Perfect.
But I'm talking about LOTR the MOVIE, not the book. The MOVIE looks like crap.
