It's been around for years. As a matter of fact, they killed it off for the most part (during the beta stage of Windows 2000), otherwise you would see XP on PowerPC;)
Actually, those with FIOS have already had it wired as far as it needs to go (to the box on the side of the house). Inside the home they just wire it to coax to provide television (at least that is what Verizon says they will do last time I checked). That or it uses Cat-6 wired to a cable (or whatever you would call it in this case) box.
My friend has FIOS, and they have indeed told him it will be avalible in his area next year. Although, that is television over fiber, but it's provided by the Telco (Verizon).
No one said that was the only reason, it just could have been the straw that broke the camel's back (well...I suppose it was already broken, so maybe the straw that brutally beat the dead camel?)
I don't think you (and lots of others who mentioned the shift key) understand. If you stop auto-run, you CAN'T PLAY THE MUSIC. Period. It's in some wierd ass format that prevents you form playing it at all. Of course, there are always ways around THAT...
It talks about a "construction of multiple protection layers, limiting the player accessibility to the provided player software". So I have to ask, how the heck does that work? Is my computer's CD-ROM drive really *that* much different from my CD players? What happends if my CD player is a DVD player too, will it be confused by some of the layers? Is this some kind of magic-mojo protection, or am I just missing something here?
Wardrivers like that give the wardriving community a bad name. Some wardrivers just want to find free and legal hotspots, and others (although they could have good intentions) just want a free net connection. Wardriving as a cheap way to access corporate networks is just bad taste...
I see this more as a proof of the power of ReactOS than the XBox. If it is a crippled PC it should be easy to port to (note: I have not tried, so I don't really know, but it should not be *that* hard), however porting an OS (specifically a similar-to-Windows one) so easily is a great sign for ReactOS. Makes me even more interested in what this could become (stable, embedded, Windows x86 EXE compatable, OSes anyone?).
This is getting way offtopic, but last time I checked Stuyvesant didn't let the less intelligent in either...
If you mean a larger class size, NYC is a lot bigger than Fairfax County, Virginia, so it's kinda a trade-off.
Or maybe I am missing your point.
Maybe everyone else is just dumber then you. Where Icome from you would be hard pressed to do well with that much gaming late at night.
Good news, or bad news first?

The first person view sounds cool, could inspire a new film technique (much like the Matrix's bullet time), but the old fashoned film technique of messing with a well-loved plot seems to be going strong.
Then complain about that, not about not getting updates. That's just a side effect of someone not using SP2. Microsoft's not going to listen to you if you complain about something they claim is "fixable" with an upgrade to SP2. So tell them SP2 doesn't work instead.
What's with all this "Microsoft should patch this", "Microsoft should patch that". I am NOT a pro Microsoft person, but they made SP2 for a reason. If SP2 fixes it, why in the hell should they go back and patch an older version? If you don't like SP2 that's your problem, but if you want to actually get the latest updates, use it. Don't complain if sticking with SP1 (or no SP) is going to stop you from getting any security fixes.

I notice he's not complaining about the salary though, so what does that have to do with the "gallery slave" conditions? He's highly skilled and performing a low skill job for moderate pay. So what?
I must say I don't really like the show, mostly because it is set in "modern times", and yet they can blow up an image 150x and "enhance" it so its crisp as day. Now, I think I need to be calling Adobe and asking them why MY Photoshop didn't come with that feature. Not only does it have preposterous technology, but the show strings viewers along as if they were stupid. With this mass technology it would cause juries to overestimate our capabilities.
They have been rolling out FTTP here in Fairfax, Virginia and I have heard no complaints. Someone I know just got it installed (which also involved digging up a trench to put the line to his house), and he said they did a great job covering their tracks. Guess it's just the luck of location. Then again, I still can't get it...
When working on graphics just let your creative juices flow. If what you wanted isn't the result, perhaps what came out is better? When I am working on graphics for a program or website I come up with a basic idea for where I want to go, and just play around and experiement. It doesn't take as long as it seems like it would, and some great creative products result. With Photoshop the best way to really get a feel for it is to have a bit of fun. Experiement, see what comes out. If you can't seem to be creative go look at a free tutorial online, many can both educate and inspire you.
Popups? What popups? Get a better browser dude!
How do you know it won't enslave the crowd? I personally find flowers scary (they remind me of going outside).
I think that this "book" is a lot less scary now that an asteroid is coming to kill us all anyway.
$5 says someone leaks it out and regular people try to use it as an encrypted messenger.

Word on the street is that Apple didn't like them sharing a torrent of the latest Tiger build, but that's just what I've heard...

Yes, like Justin Frankel.
1) Get smart 2) Get on Jeopardy 3) Sell your soul to Microsoft 4) ??? 5) Profit! Now, I only need to get smart...

Eh, better SAT scores (proof), and a real /. user account to back me up instead of an (anonymous) coward. I think I win.
