    The need for laptops like these is not so great in countries where there already are computers everywhere.

    ...I anticipate would never succeed in creating a (working) computer program or come up with a logic chain of mathematical statements. A _quota_ for such a thing?! How flawed isn't that? Like they could know that the number of terrorist (or tourists or whatever they are chasing) always will be greater than, or equal to, the number mentioned in that quota.

    So, does this mean it doesn't work with windows (meaning "my dell computer") or that it doesn't work with windows (meaning "my imac that has a windows dual-boot scenario using bootcamp") or both?
    I don't know, I only read the blurb.

    Econo-Girl's purpose in writing this blog is to start a dialog on the Geneva Convention, since it now applies to the Department of Defense again. Guess it's not quaint anymore, eh?

    Over the next few weeks, Econo-Girl would like to post articles about the Geneva Convention, like its origin and major provisions. Legal analysis is not the magic some would have you believe.

    If the grunts and paper pushers are knowledgeable, the anti-torture infrastructure will be strengthened.

    Good point in the FAQ of standards based (H.323, SIP) communications program (text, audio, video) Ekiga:
    Ekiga is not compatible with Skype and will never be as long as their protocol will stay proprietary. We do not think using closed protocols for communications is a good thing.

    They do that at a lot of unis, actually, if it's RoboCup you're talking about?
    No, this wasn't RoboCup. Our competition involved only those who took the course. Pretty much the same sort of game, though. I suppose other universities too are holding their own competitions, for that matter.

    I click on zero drug spams, and 280 times as much on porn spam. Who on earth falls for spam?! Don't they (the spams) shout "I will fool you!" high enough?

    In my day, we didn't have timers! You'd be lucky if you got halfway down the street before debris started raining down on you!
    Yet in my day, you had to manually set off the explosives on site. So you'd strap them around your belly or something and went down in the blow... I guess some people still do it oldschool. Someone should tell them about the advancements of technology... or mabye not.
