I don't mind floating palettes as long as they stay on top of the damn picture I'm working on...THAT's the most annoying thing about them in the GIMP. Then again, I also wish they went with a more intuitive interface like Paint Shop Pro rather than the very overrated PhotoShop.:/
B&W2 looks cool...but this presents me (and a few others out there) with a problem... It's published by EA. How am I supposed to boycott EA and buy B&W2 at the same time:/
Disagreed... I'd put in that 4GB for my OS, and a few programs, and then a big 7200 RPM for everything else. My friend just built a system with a 36GB Raptor for his OS and a 7200 RPM for his data and it starts up damn fast.
I was rather impressed with the way Sega evenly distributed itself amongst it's three ex-competitors. Although, the GC got the least love from 'em. Sony was a tough position for them I'm sure, since they were the people who put them out of business (hardware wise) yet their machine had the largest marketshare. Being that Jet Grind was heavily influenced by it's artwork, the system with the best graphics capabilities won out of course... Sega had no idea the Xbox would do so poorly in Japan at the time.
Most of their stuff is softer. There's actually quite a large variety to it. Birthday Cake is probably their most abrasive sounding song though:P My wife went out and bought both their albums after we got JSRF.
Jet Set Radio Future was never released on the Gamecube...it came out for Xbox.

So, what you're saying is you didn't even read my article and youre just guessing at what it said? Because it has nothing to do with what you replyed with... Is Windows released under a GPL type license? Then how does that have anything to do with this? lol...
"Are some operating systems more open than others with regard to the configuration of Daylight Savings Time start and end dates, or will we need yet another update or patch to modify the internal calendar?"
I'm pretty sure all operating systems will need to be updated to work with this new system...lol. BIOSes too.
Shenmue, just like Jet Set, had a great primise and graphics...but had horrible controls. Shenmue's level of detail and interaction was great, but the controls were horrindous. It made the game damn near unplayable. And don't even get me started on quick time events >:(
First off, I own both Jet "Grind" Radio and Jet Set Radio Future. As while the premise of the games was great and the graphics were really cool, the actual gameplay was pretty lacking. Maybe I had already been tainted by the control scheme wonders of Tony Hawk, but Jet Set was a real pain to play. I'd much rather spend my time fighting enemies rather than the controls. JSR Future was a little better than the first, but there's still a lot ripe for improvement.
As while what you say is true, 98% of Windows users hardly ever touch those tools, if ever...

Clearly the GPL's not that big a problem for businesses...otherwise they wouldn't use it. They might not like to, but in the end it's worth it...and really the LGPL is no more restrictive to their business model than the BSD license.
But that's just the thing...Linux isn't really an operating system. It's just a platform on which you build an operating system. Don't compare "Linux" to Windows, compare specific distros to Windows;)

RealPlayer? Yes, with patch directly from Real;)
Quicktime? I don't think so....
on your "H.264" encoding...do you mean Apple's implementation of it? H.264 is a standard, not a codec. Will those.mov's play on other people's operating systems? Can I watch them in Linux...legally? This is why people make a fuss about it. Media/data should never be contained in a proprietary format. It's one thing to use proprietary software, but all data should be open and standardized.
That's what prototypes are for though. You make a very simplistic version of the game and test to see if it's fun long before you put in all that time on the real artwork and heavy coding.
That is pretty bad when you make a dupe of your own post! lol...Plus, the fact that IE7 would only be for XP and up has been known for quite a while now.

Who cares about that... Will it run on my Gentoo and Ubuntu systems??? ;)

It's very cool to see a bounty for something like this...

"Jet Set Radio" was already trademarked by another company and Sega of America didnt' feel like paying to license it the first time around ;)
