That's One Trillion US, not a US metric ton. The US and British numbering systems differ when numbers start getting large:
10^12 = trillion (US) = billion (UK)
10^18 = quintillion (US) = trillion (UK)

Brigham Young University in Provo, UT has online courses, albeit, they aren't free, but the courses are avaliable. Additionally, the available courses aren't limited to upper level courses, many of them are generals, so students can take them at their leisure.
You're right (and I knew that was the case when I made the suggestion), but you can't fault me for dreaming, can you?
It just doesn't follow, if I want to buy porn at the store I have to ask for it (or go to a specialty store), why not the same set-up for the internet?
Frankly, I don't understand why porn doesn't have it's own extension. That way people can block it out, or surf it to their heart's content. No harm, no foul.
who hates Mozilla? Argh! It's got some decent features, but I just don't like it (actually, I hate it with a flared-pink passion). What, exactly, is it that I'm missing that makes this the end-all be-all?
1/8 - Osage/Iroquois. And, for the record, that is plenty to be registered Cherokee (their cut off is 1/16), so even my KIDS could be... oooohhh impressive.
Also, as I mentioned, I'm not sure how ALL tribes funtion, and thus limited my comments to those that I have had past dealings with (for the record, that is neither the Osage nor Iroquois tribes (as my family hasn't been officially recognized by them since my grandfather married and left the rez (c) 1925), and I'd rather not mention which tribes they are). And, believe you me, those I have personal knowledge of have (and will continue to, I'm sure) kick people out the their tribe as they see fit.
Additionally, the individual tribes get to determine where the cut off is for acceptance into the tribe (i.e.: Cherokee is 1/16th, and Mono is 1/64th) and the BIA goes right along with them. Now, before you get your knickers in a knot over that one, I'm not saying the specific tribes having a voice in that is wrong, rather, I'm all for it. What I'm saying is, those numbers are sometimes volitile, and, tribal records have been known to get "lost" somehow.
I'm sorry, were you trying to comment on any of the information in my post? You seem to have focused on something you had no information about, and instead assumed that someone back in the old west spent a night in one of my ancestors tee-pee's, sorry to disappoint you.
Ahh, as, what appears to be the only resident Indian (I really do dislike the term Native American, come on, you were born here too) I feel it my responsibility to comment on this post.
1) the parent is RIGHT! Sort of. Tribal politics determine where what money goes. If the Chief (or Tribal Elder(s), depending) wants to squander the mondy given to the tribe on installing a pool next to his house, he can. And, just try to speak out against that! Oh, you wanted an enrollment number (same idea as SSN, but for Indians, it determines eligability for grands, scholarships, loands, etc) for your kid? Too bad. Turns out, the tribe has disowned you. Oh, and we'll be taking yours as well (yup, they can and do). AND, these tribal leaders (due to some serious rules you don't want me to go into) tend to be the bottom to the totem pole as far as brains and generosity go (at least in my area). They don't have to share if they don't want to (and tend to not want to). It is activly participating in and seeing this mentality that breeds laziness. Couple that with the mentality of the average welfare recepient (white, black, pink, purple, red, etc) and what you have is a breeding ground for welfare moms.
2) The parent is also wrong. Connectivity to the internet will (hopefully) give an added boost to those who are looking to get out of the rut they are currently in. Surprisingly, some actually want to do this.
3) Not all Indians get free education. I'm working my butt off to put myself through school because I'm not recognized by my tribe (no enrollment number = no free money). Sorry parent, not all Indians are created equal, either.
4) Those of you who are trying to play the race card, get over yourself! It is a fact that the single most desciminated against group of individuals in the US today (as a direct result of anti-descrimination laws) is the single white male, age 23-27. (period)
You do realize this would mean that all we would have left would be grannies, kids too young to have drivers licences, and those who can't even bum a car off of a roommate. So, like, my grandmother, kid sister, and self.
If they actually win, then I'm going to work for them. Sure none of my friends will talk to me, but where else can you have a job where you just go around claiming that people are copying ideas that you didn't even come up with, show no proof, sue, and make loads of money whilst you're at it?
If we could only get OTHER (unnamed, of course) software products out the door on time. How is it that opensource = on time? and totally secret = late?
I'm not getting laid either way. Maybe, just maybe, the Pac-man idea isn't such a bad one after all. Then, at least, I'd have a reason for not getting any.
While I appriciate the desire of tech companies to target specific groups with the intent of increasing sales I have to wonder if they are going about it in the right way. My parents' skill levels are about the same, where as mine (yes, I fall in the targeted demographic) far surpass my brother's. So, perhaps instead of marketing for "women" they should market for "old people", "techno-phobes", and "those who think that by 'printer' we mean 'typewriter'".

This should at most have earned a "Funny", or is there something I'm missing here?
Uh, yeah. I'm going to assume that the thing you missed was "Monty Python and the Holy Grail." Or, at least the opening credits.

and you can bet your bippy (who really knows what that means anyway) that we get kicked out of school if caught looking a things we oughtn't be.
