I don't think you can get insurance after you get sick!!!! Meaning I am sure there will be some sort of phase in period. Having preexisting conditions exempt, doesn't mean the insurance company has to cover costs prior to your enrolment in the insurance, your probably still gonna have to pay the doctors and hospital bills issued prior to your enrolment, nor does it prevent probationary phase in periods.

You may also note that the reluctance of the developers to implement voice video support which was forked and then was supposed to be integrated with Pidgin. The code did exist and was there for voice Video support but has not yet 2 years later been implemented. I've had a few discussions with one of the developers and he wonders why people want that feature.....figures the current client is good enough for him and doesn't need that feature cause him and his friends don't use it.

All in all I agree open source developers need to be more open to change and ideas. and be more considerate that people are not attacking their work, but offering ideas and suggestions that their fan base might enjoy. We recognize that they are donating their own time, os if they don't have time, then perhaps they could be more receptive to allowing others to join the project and add those requested features...if they make their project public they need to realize they need to support the public to some degree or allow others to participate. A project without a fan base is a dead project, and thats what will happen to all their time and effort if they don't support the public to some degree.

Who said you can provide many different packages of the shows with different commercials tailored for each market, of which is handed out in accordance to where your IP is from which is in a sense a geographical marker. And then you can modify the packages every 1 to 4 weeks and change the commercials. In the end the show if popular would be self sustaining on bittorrent. :) Of course this could fragment the bittorrent population, but if you have 2.5 million + bitorrent users, it would probably be for the best. :)

Unfortunately Gates has jumped into the political arena and is drawing us into the ring. By calling us communists he is trying to distract attention from ourselves, anti communistic attitudes in the states are still strong amongst Joe Public, if Bill manages to tap this resource of sentiment and use it against open source or free software supporters it may set the whole open source back or at least slow it's growth and adoption by Joe Public down. It is a great political strategy that has worked for many politicians in winning a campaign. It's time for Slashdot and linux leaders to form a foundation focused on advertising and image shaping of linux and to combat Bill Gates in that arena. We cannot ignore this anti linux advertising for much longer, We need to fight tooth and nail against false images that the political gates is trying to place on us. otherwise Joe Public adoption of linux in North America will be set back or slow down in North America. Fortunate it willbe money that will drive it and it will not be stopped, but for Joe Public it is in our best interest to work to keep the current pace and to speed up it's adoption. Anyhow, I'm interested to see and read others thoughts on this perspective....
