Having all of KDE's eye candy turned on, on a p2 400 MHz machine with 128 megs ram works perfectly fine for me.

Having any themes on in Windows XP on my Athlon XP 1900+, 512 Megs ram, and a Radeon AIW 7500 nearly kills it just scrolling down in the start menu (considering ALL sound and all other windows freeze, I say its close enough to killing it).

  10. MS's grad plan? on Sneak Peek At Microsoft Anti-Spyware · · Score: 2, Insightful

I know how MS is going to eliminate ALL malware. I figure that they plan to raise attention to the serious issues with just anybody being able to write software, so then they can try and make a licensing program where companies can pay to have their software certified as legit, and the binaries signed (creating a new revenue stream for MS), then once some big companies start following along, keep applying pressure to the ones that don't go along (like them showing up as 'spyware' in their anti-spyware software), then as slowly keep tightening to noose, and eventually require ALL software to be signed by MS.

Ok well this won't actually affect malware, spyware, and adware and viruses, trojans, and worms. ... I need to get myself a tinfoil hat! *goes off and buys one*

So DDoSing would be classified as 'nonviolent'?

DDoS attacks screw up everyone on the line from each distributed client to the target, the closer you are to the target the more you will be screwed over.

Often times the web site that is linked to by the spam is a virtual host, i.e. not a dedicated server, so in addition to everyone in the line to them, you also take down all their other virtual hosts. The spammer may of not even been doing anything wrong on that site since more likely than not it was NOT sending out the spam so the hoster would have no reason to cancel their service.

QT is released under the GPL on Linux and OS X. People claim it isn't free because use to it was ONLY under the QPL, but now you can use it under either license for non-commercial use. If you want to make money off of it do the honest thing and pay them for using their product, and you will be able to license it under any license you wish.
