The population explosion is not, for the most part, something that has happened in the industrialized, developed nations....
The birth rate in developed nations is actually dropping.
Um, except the US is only the only industrialized country with a climbing birth rate - +0.883% (2008 est.)
Compared to say negative growth rates in the other countries mentioned.
* New UI technique -- hit windows key, type the name of your file or program, and hit enter. (The upgraded Explorer has a whole bunch of new and useful bits, but this is the one I miss the most from the Beta.)
* Old XP technique -- hit windows key, hit R, type the name of your file or program, and hit enter. (Why that was worth $200, save pressing the R key.)
easily the worst I have seen, made my girlfriend leave early because of sea-sickness. She forced me to go back in to find out how it ends. Felt like cheering as each person got killed, then the end, where the monster wasn't even shown. You could hear the groans in the cinema.
Followed closely by Black Hole, from Disney or something, with lines like: "... our mission is to seek out habitable life."
I have an ASUS M2N (centrino and wirelss) and have got 5 hours of surfing and game play out of it before I realised I hadn't pushed the power cord far enough into the socket. It has 4 cpu speeds, so dims and dumbs itself down when running off batteries. I wasn't even on the slowest speed. .
Even when its updating, the Norton Firewall is active.
Then how does his computer get hosed?
Why doesn't Norton's firewall work after the computer is connected?
I have never had this problem, maybe because I have always had either had a non-Nortons firewall installed, or been behind a hardware firewall. Am I missing something here?
What he is saying is I disagree with most of what they say already, so I will ignore the rest.
The jury is still out on whether humans are causing/have caused global warming.
Only for scientist working for Bush and Oil companies, that is the entire point of the article.
...I didn't say that, I implied they're not (SUVs) evil.
Commonsense says in a world of limited resources, cars that consume twice as much, and are more likely to kill people might be a bad idea... But what the heck! It is a free world who believes in that "tragedy of the commons" stuff anyway.
...At the same time, I don't have much regard for "professional activists", who are driven more by their desire to change something, anything, than to achieve a particular goal.
If a group of scientist disagree with a governments policies they shoudl do what? It isn't just the UCS, with their "flakey" world view that has these opinions. Half a dozen editorials in magazines like New Scientist etc. have also expressed them in the last couple of years.

What kind of a fucking idiot would contemplate defying his company in this way?
I think enough people like this, standing upto to stupid managers and greedy corporations may eventually make a difference.
But I guess I am just another lazy idealist.

Will give the Wii a bad name.
Actually there is a species of Galapogos penguins that live on the Equator. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gal%C3%A1pagos_Pengui n
Some mustbe in the northern hemisphere for part of the time.
Finally, the stability of the US government is much greater [fundforpeace.org] than that of Iran.,/p>
Interesting list, I notice all the states in the green (best) section of the list do NOT have nuclear weapons.
Boiling uranium?
For the laser separation method, not for centrifuges. /i>
But the silex/laser method proposed also uses UF6 gas.

I am about to go into a tunnel... then hang up.
No way turkey guts or rapeseed oil scales up to 80 billion barrels per day
Thats 80 million barrels per day, or 30 billion barrels per year. Either way, we have still hit peak oil.
You explained the problem above in a few paragraphs. And yet you needed these daily 2 hour meetings every day for how long?
Those meetings really were a waste of time.
Have you heard of this place?
Guantanamo Bay
You can buy iPods in Australia but you do not have access to iTMS...
In 2002, in Australia, a spammer tried to sue the guy who reported them to the SPEWS blacklist. Case was dismissed, see the result here:

Very impressed.
Just read the instructions for service pack one, and I cannot find any mention of the phrase: "turn off all firewalls"
A fine troll couldn't understand why soemone would have so many problems with such a simple activity.

another stupid TLA, meaning a PC running windows...
Me neither, can't see the point of computers, cell phones or PDAs either. I have enough fingers to count most things.
