Nonsense - if God created everything, then God created evil.
If he hadn't even created the concept of good and evil in the first place, there would have been no way Adam could have sinned, and yet would still have had free will.
Medical doctors (or should that be post-graduate medical students? After all, their doctorate doesn't involve adding anything to the pool of human knowledge) aren't scientists - they're flesh mechanics.
The fact that 72.35% of washing machine mechanics believe in God is as equally irrelevant to the field of science as medical doctors.
Then go to an Apple store, look at the quality of their monitors, make noises of awe, and then understand why they're not as cheap as the ones Dell throw in with a $500 computer.
*shurg*
I know a large number of people who are friends only - I myself am that way, but then I'm a sensitive soul.
Can't speak for others, but I suppose it's a good way of getting a feel for someone after you've met them off your head in a nightclub the night before.
I think you're missing the point - LiveJournal isn't a host for pretentious self-important "bloggers" to pontificate and spread their views as if they're someone of power.
It's just a place for people to chit-chat with their friends.
3) That's irrelevant - it's not an inherant property of command lines, but of programming languages. As such, it can be achieved via the aforementioned AppleScript.
They can even be "written" graphically with tools such as the forthcoming Automator, which is just one in a long line of visual scripting tools.
1) Funny, my Mac GUI seems fairly scriptable through AppleScript.
2) Memorised commands often take longer to type than the short sequence of keys required to navigate well known menus.
3) Unless the clever guys behind bash, zsh, or whatever have added an AI agent lately that programs for you, you can't do anything with a computer that hasn't been thought of by a programmer.
Obviously you've not been a student lately, because having graduated a year and a half ago, I'd value decent equation and diagram editors way above a spelling checker.
Because, of course, English law and government is demonstrably broken, and therefore England has now disbanded and it's law has been replaced the world over by the superior US justice system.
Oh, wait a minute...
Yes. Yes, it is. It's far too fast for it's own good.
Also, it's a good thing we don't travel about 30mph, otherwise our skeletons would turn to jelly!
Oh, wait a minute...
As soon as you walk off the well worn path, doctor's are useless. Add to that the fact they're practically trained to think they're God, rather than the lowly flesh mechanics they are, and you've got a tricky situation.
Personally, I'd pay good money to have a decent quality 12" screen over your "superior" bigger screen. I *like* being able to carry around my laptop between one finger and one thumb.
By tapping a cane, a blind person perceives a step, a curb or a puddle of water but is not aware of any sensation in the hand; feeling is experienced at the tip of the cane.
IME, the reverse is also true - when riding my motorbike, I'm not aware of pushing on the handlebars, shifting weight etc - I just think where I want it to go and it does.
I'd debate practically every point, personally, but that's probably due to my odd choice of computer system (SGIs - GCC on MIPS/IRIX is awful) and my career in embedded systems (various platforms where GCC isn't available, Linux isn't suitable due to licensing, latency, etc.).
Personally, I like having a proper IDE, which open source doesn't provide very well for custom platforms. When real money is being spent on a product, paying for tools is often cheaper and gets a better product than paying someone to hack an open source alternative to fit in the time available.
As you say, the benefits to paid programmers are minimal. Unfortunately, managers think it's a panacea, and therefore it often makes life harder, which is not good. Either that, or you don't get paid because they *do* manage to bodge an open source solution into the gap, which is even worse.
"Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" was renamed "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" for the US release.
Presumably they thought American's wouldn't know what a philosopher was.

In which case, He's negligent for not stopping whatever agent did cause it.
Funny, I remember the BBC running a documentary a couple of years ago where they covered the exact same reasons.
Then go to an Apple store, look at the quality of their monitors, make noises of awe, and then understand why they're not as cheap as the ones Dell throw in with a $500 computer.
By being the copyright holder. Yes, you can take the code, but if the license has been revoked, then you're breaking the law.

You could always get your trusty hole punch out and continue handcrafting those cards?
Obviously you've not been a student lately, because having graduated a year and a half ago, I'd value decent equation and diagram editors way above a spelling checker.
My loyalty and respect is mine to give, and I'll give it as I wish, regardless of whether it's deserved or an attempt is made to buy it.

Virtual desktops have been and gone - exposé is where it's at these days ;)

Awww... Does the ickle United Statesywaitsy not like it when the big, bad, richer, stronger, schizophrenic European Union won't play it's game?

Anyway, I'm waffling, so I'll stop here.
You're talking about the awful American remake aren't you, not the original classic?

From a quick view of their gallery, they all look rather computer generated. I still favour Terragen.
