Regardless, most religions tend to worship a god that tells us to be good to each other,
Can I join you on whatever planet you're posting from? Seems a lot better than mine in this respect. On THIS planet we have bad tempered narcissistic sky gods with a serious inferiority complex who are either diddling with family members or structuring wholesale genocide.
You'd like to think that, but there's no reason for FEMA to need APCs unless they're going to make war against us.
You obviously don't understand how government requisitioning works. Here's a snippet of the relevant conversation:
FEMA staffer "We need some trucks." FEMA manager "We only got 10% of the budget we asked for, you get a wheelbarrow." FEMA staffer "Well, we still need the trucks, what do we do? FEMA manager "Next budget cycle, ask for something expensive, like an Armored Personnel Carrier." FEMA staffer "But we don't need APCs - we need trucks! FEMA manager "Idiot. If you ask for a 4 million dollar APC, you just might get and $80,000 truck. If you ask for a truck, you get a wheelbarrow." FEMA staffer "Oh" FEMA manager "That's all right son, that's why I'm the manager."
If Un started running his mouth stupidly, they'd probably pump him full of drugs until he started talking about rainbows instead. Killing him would be drastic.
I can't imagine living in REDACTED country where REDACTED was allowed to REDACTED REDACTED REDACTED. You'd think in the US, the REDACTED of Information Act would REDACTED this sort of thing but instead we find REDACTED REDACTED.
But I highly doubt they're going to be able to do this properly. I doubt their embalming job would last a year.
They just don't strike me as the kind of people who can pull it off.
Check out the web site for "Fountain National Academy of Professional Embalming Skills". If these guys do embalming with the same professionalism they utilize with web site creation, they'd get better results if they stuck Chavez in a blender.
Sorry to break this to you, no matter what Rush Limbaugh thinks, the Ninth Circuit is still** part of the United States.
** Yes, Virginia - California, Washington, Hawaii and Oregon are included within the legal and political boundaries of the United States. We're not so sure of Alaska, but since the Canadians don't want it and you can't see Russia from there, it appears we're stuck with it.
Science is NOT 'believing what they tell us at face value'. Science IS asking (and getting) evidence before accepting their conclusions (the concept of repeatability). Yes, scientists are annoyingly human and therefore bedeviled with the same positive and negative attributes as the rest of humanity.
I'm not entirely sure what your point is. You seem to be confusing journalists with scientists. There is an unfortunate tendency for the press to dig around an abstract, find some enticing sentence and tart it up well past the point where the authors would even admit to writing about it - then have it repeated in the Internet echo chamber until it's a cure for cancer, scabies and annoying foot perspiration. But that isn't what science is.
Go to a conference about something and listen to the question and answer period. That's science.
The Fine Summary misses most of the point. They could have simply copied the second paragraph from the Fine Article:
A note has been posted by Amazon underneath the “Currently unavailable” message. It states that many customers are having connection issues and they have no idea when it will be fixed. As we reported earlier, EA is bringing new servers online over the next 2 days to try and solve the problem, and Maxis is fixing bugs as quickly as they can, but server architecture issues are hampering them.
Given that the determination of life outside our little planet is one the fundamental questions asked of the space program, seeding bits of ourselves, or even the reasonable possibility of contamination muddies the waters. You don't want to be accused of bringing the first novel bit of off planet life with you from the get go.
You're lucky she didn't start by detailing the trials and tribulations of her pregnancy with you. Even worse is the blow by blow description of your childhood to your significant other.
You have some fundamental problem with vibration?
Jealous or what?
You must get invited to all of the parties.

She.
You know we're going to see this headline:
"Scientists prove that God exists."
Scary.
" ... Facebook them .... "
You verbed Facebook.
Bad boy. Now, go bleach your brain.

Groovy.
Preview is so terribly, horribly, unimaginably, insufferably difficult to use.
Oh, you think so too? Glad I've got company!

Why, that's Un possible.

You're forgetting Barry Manilow.
I go Postal when I hear Barry.
That's correct. When I was growing up, if you burnt the bacon, well, you were toast.

Mommy! Grandpa dumped all of his medications in the goldfish bowl again!
Never thought Immodium was a part of a well rounded security system.

Just dress it up in Latin -
Inexploratus incognitus
Sounds much more erudite.

I'm French. Why you think I have this outrageous accent?
A MØØse once bit my sister.

"Thou shalt not make a machine in the likeness of a human mind." O.C. Bible
Yes. Making a machine that wobbles like a bowel of jello and acts like a batch of electrified spaghetti probably isn't a good idea.
