These guys were arrested for making fun of our laughable judicial system. Need proof that our judicial system is laughable? These guys were arrested for making fun of...
Sorry, if it was in a court room during a trial, sure, but all these guys did wrong was piss off the wrong people. Article mentions they are part of an organization to promote better public access to the courts. Obviously these two were a thorn in a side or two. Arresting them is pure abuse of power just to make a point.
RTFA to you too asshat! Its not about the GOD DAMNED SNOWPLOW OPERATOR. That was a side note that got thrown in. The article was about a court decision involving a lawer with suspected Hells Angels ties and to quote TFA:
So investigators stuck a GPS, or Global Positioning System, bug on Moran's car, watched his movements, and arrested him on drug charges a month later.
Get your info right if you're gonna try to reign ME in pardner!
"liberal kykes"... great now I've got a racist moron on my side...
As far as I am concerned (and if you read his many statements on the matter Thomas Jefferson agreed), the second amendment is not just about owning guns for hunting and self defence. It is also about national defence AND last but not least: defence against the government itself, assuming things have gone horribly wrong. The right and duty of revolution.
Long term, I'm a lot less worried about burglers than I am about the "good old US of A" finally becoming the police state the homeland security division seems to want it to be. Call me conspiracy nut if you want, but every time I read the paper, things look more and more Orwellian!
My question is: what happens if it does get that bad? Who's gonna rescue us if we can't do it ourselves?
whew - sorry. Between this and the smartgun post I'm well over my daily limit for "the Man" getting in my business.
Okay, at the risk of pissing off the tin foil hat crowd, I have to ask: what's the problem here?
As much as I'm against the Big Brother state, I gotta say it's a little absurd to expect privacy while you're on the road. I mean, the cops don't need a warrant to tail you. They don't need a warrant to put out an APB for your car. Those things accomplish the same thing as GPS -- either tracking your movements or locating you, and they're all completely legal and, in my opinion, reasonable.
You DON'T see a problem? An APB has all officers pull you over on sight. That isn't SURVEILANCE. Tailing someone (which they can only do for a short period of time without a warrant btw) is usually just until the plates are run. This isn't SURVEILANCE. On the other hand, installing a GPS transmitter in your car so you whereabouts can be determined remotely, IS FRIGGIN SURVEILANCE which FRIGGIN REQUIRES A FRIGGIN WARRANT! ALWAYS! EVEN WITH HELLS ANGELS DRUG TIES! What your saying is like saying a bug or phone tap doesn't need a warrant, 'cause a cop walking by on the street might overhear a conversation through an open window!
No no no. Under the pillow is the BEST place to keep it. That way it can whisper to me while I sleep about how to kill the anti-gun idiots.
Seriously, have any of you anti-gun folks ever shot? More than a few rounds? Let me explain: After you get over the scary loud noise and recoil, shooting is actually an entertaining hobby, not exclusive to arch-conservatives from northern Idaho. Guns CAN be very safe in qualified hands.
As for the burgler getting to his gun first: Sure its possible, but a burgler who is busy dodging bullets will probably think closely about a career change. For me personally, its in arms reach, loaded, and I'm a light sleeper.
Now to the idiocy that started this damned ramble: SMART guns? Yeah, I can picture this working out REAL well. Criminal has hacked version that fires instantly while I pull the trigger and a pleasant voice says: "Checking for Authorization" Listen, banning guns won't do shit! Any moron can make a molotov cocktail, and he doesn't have to be much smarter to build a potato gun. After that, how big a step is it to prison style co2 zip guns? (for those of you who don't know, not a big one!) I've got a solution to keep little Johnny from getting his hands on daddy's gun: Keep it on ya! Its more useful that way!
For all those who feel safe without guns, more power to ya, but out here, the meth-heads are turning it into the wild-west, and as someone once said, "I just don't wanna get killed for lack of shootin' back!"
Sorry for the rant, but this is one of the few issues I agree with the right-wing on, and I personally believe a mostly anti-gun history lost Kerry the election.

sexual stereotypes created by men
Sit on a bench in a mall for a couple hours sometime. You will notice that women dress almost in uniform by age group. I'm sure no man decided all women should do that "streaked" hair thing, but In my area 75 percent of women in their 20's have it.
I'm sorry, but people have to take responsibility for their own actions. If you dress a certain way, it's your choice. If you let advertising or stereotypes influence that, it's your choice to do so. If you think you need to lose weight because of some perceived stereotype, go ahead - after all anorexia and bulimia aren't a drop in the bucket compared to obesity in this country, and the majority of us could stand to lose a couple pounds. Doesn't matter to me, I'll still be in sandals, levis and an aloha shirt with long hair. Every few years or so, I'm accidentally fashionable!
No, you've got it all wrong. Right now we just download to our hearts content. We don't have to come up with a legitimate use for it 'til they try to shut it down!
That was a joke (for the sake of humorless moderators)
I'm sick of hearing about how MEN are responsible for the sexual stereotyping. What about Cosmo and all the other mags dedicated to helping women look as much like the sterotype as possibe?
If you're going to pay someone to do your taxes, I'd avise checking local papers, etc. to find someone other than H&R Shaft er Block. I get mine done by the same person every year, the difference is she is motivated by the fact that the money I pay her is HERS, rather than H&R Block's. Trust me, I've done the Pepsi challenge with this and it is worth it. "If there's a refund..." HA HA HA sucker! 'Course working on the road does make for a lot of write-offs...
Dude, no - you DON'T! Who fed you this pile of crap and why are you regurgitating it here? Audio is NOTHING like your wireless example. It is a simple signal. The only possible issue is if you get into pro-audio (recording or sound reinforcement) gear and run into the hotter pro level signal (+10db if I remember right) it might cause distortion in your home gear. This is professional SR gear though, you won't find this stuff outside of places like Guitar Center. Brand to brand in a stereo store you will be fine.
Well, now that I've read the article (should I turn in my/. membership?) it seems that Sprint was the reason these features weren't supported (didn't want anyone getting anything for free...) If PalmOne is interested in selling more phones, maybe they should support the end user. Just a thought...
"Wow our product has a new use we never thought of, and it seems that a lot of people are interested in support for this... Let's tell 'em all to fuck off!"
Of course they should support it, its a market for their product!
What the hell is WRONG with you people? I run around in sandals all year round. Frozen outside, and I'm still in 'em (no I'm not wearing socks you geek!). Meanwhile, mid summer I sometimes have to work in 50C temps. Its hot, but I can hang. LEARN TO ADAPT YOU FOOLS!
Seriously though, I had to do a complete reinstall of XP on my week old laptop, just after getting all security updates, NAV updates, a good browser, etc... because of a corrupted file. This isn't exactly awe inspiring reliability!
Guess why those select products are cheaper? Because they aren't actually the same product. Has the same package... says its the same product, but has a wal-mart only model number and built shoddier... oh my, is it possible? Meanwhile they use these "ultra-low prices (*ahem*-quality)" and their ability to flood an area to the point of competing with themselves, to drive out all competition. Then, with no competition, they can start charging higher prices for inferior goods! No, I'm not being paranoid, this has already happened in some markets. So buy up folks, you will have no one to blame but yourselves! I'm sure McDonalds won't outsource you fry-cook job!

Fine, early 20's late 20's... I'm 29 and I still like tits! As long as the market they sell to is predominately male, hot women help sell it.
No, the demons that live inside the PC and make it go actually demand a blood sacrifice now and then!

Dude, I'm so jealous. In the 386 era, I was stuck with an outdated Tandy 8088 based pile. No HD, something like 256k. Man my parents SUCKED!
