That being said, his life was made hellish for it, though of course, he choose to run from the law, so he is a bit responsible for what happened to him.
Guilty or not, running from the law makes you guilty in their eyes. In fact, that gave them more then enough motivation to be the dicks they were.
The sad part? Social Engineering is still a great way to get access to systems 20 years or so later. So the question remains, how did punishing Kevin Mitnick actually help anyone? It didn't? Or it just fed the ego's of the FBI?
... But this document does raise the question... can WikiLeaks or other leak sites be "selective" in their leaks?....
That is one seriously stupid ass question.
yes, they can be selective in their leaks. In fact, they could decide to never leak anything again, or they could decide to sell their website, or they could decide to all get sex changes and show documents on how it was done.
They could also throw me a birthday party with clowns & lots of hookers.
Any other really stupid questions you want to ask?
When did/. become a tabloid? This has nothing to do with "mind control". Control implies intent and I am pretty sure that a bacteria in the digestive tract have no intent to "explore narrow walkways".
The bacteria makes the stomach feel better and the vagus nerve transmits this feeling to the brain thereby reducing stress. There is a funny thing about stress. The response to stress is not linear it is exponential. If someone under no stress has a little stress added they can deal with it. A person under a lot of stress has the same amount add it can push them over the edge. A good example of this is losing keys. If you are about to leave the house to go for a walk and cant find you keys it is not a problem; most people just delay the walk until they find their keys. Now lose your keys when you are trying to get to the airport with 4 excited children. That small stressor can drive you insane. Same stressor, different initial stress level, different response. So the stomach feeling good lowers stress levels and allows the rodent to handle added stress better. Animals under stress avoid stress.
Do bacteria in the digestive tract affect animals? Yes, by making them feel better and having less stress. Do bacteria in the digestive tract control the mind? No, that do not make animals do things they do not want to do.
Really? Your positive about this, huh?
Let me tell you a little bit about stress and me. Stress doesn't start in my stomach. Stress starts in my brain. Ya, I know that is that is probably the weirdest thing you've ever heard, but, at least with me, it's true. And that stress, goes from my head, to my stomach. I know your thinking, what? that's bullshit, stress starts in your stomach because I said so. Well, sorry, but stress starts in the brain. Ya, i know, that really fucks up the post you were doing, since you are claiming stress starts in the stomach.
And while we are at it, you do understand there are different degrees of "mind control". While you are cutting to the end result, where the you are trying to say the stomach is in complete control of the mind, only shows how stupid you are and how you can't even think logically. Had you bothered to read the article, you'd see that they are influencing chemicals and stuff, not actually taking over. (well, thought to influence, they are still trying to figure this shit out).
But of course, your the expert and if you say it's hogwash, we should believe you, right? Even though you can't read the article and of course, are making it seem like it's saying more then it is.
But right now, my stomach is saying this post is a waste of time, sort of like talking to a brick wall. And I agree.
like the prosecutor is going to want to charge police officers, the same people the prosecutor works with, with criminal charges for video taping people. Will rarely happen.
Which is my point. "government violates the law with impunity and nobody cares." You are cheering for the government to violate the law with impunity. Why doesn't it make you mad? Why aren't we gathering up our arms and marching into the police station demanding that they hand over the cop responsible? "It was just a little violation." There is no such thing. A dirty cop is a dirty cop, there is no "barely dirty". And the system is dirty. The only one here who broke the law is the cop. There is a court finding stating that he violated the videographer's civil rights, yet he runs around planting drugs and beating children with impunity. The system doesn't exist to watch the watchers. There's just enough of a shadow of a system to claim there's IA to make sure to keep civilians out of judging the justifiability of shooting incidents, no cop wants that. Yes, I think the prosecutors should be lining up to take a hard line on crime, even if the criminal is a cop. Otherwise, all cops are criminals. The only question is whether they are the kind to commit a violent felony (false impeisonment, violating civil rights, assault) or whether they are participating in the felonious coverup. When all cops are criminals, we'd be better off without them. So, why aren't we lining up to lynch the cop that falsely arrested the guy with the camera, and shoot any cop that gets in our way? That'd be more law and order than we get with the criminal cops we have now.
I'm not sure exactly what your problem is here, but you fail at comprehension.
I suggested that instead of waiting for the government to step in and protect your rights, that you (or whomever is in the situation) takes the police officer to civil court.
How does that make you think I'm cheering the government on?
No, really, explain yourself. Because I'm here thinking your a fucking retard or something, because nothing that i posted should lead anyone to the idea that I am cheering the government to violate the law with impunity. I can't believe someone could be as stupid as to even come up with that conclusion from my post. This is a troll, right? I've fed the troll? That's pretty good, you got me. What is so special about minecraft that it makes so many stories? Is it just purely flexibility and users being imaginative, or is there a particular reason that/. loves it so? I recall a post a few months ago about a guy who recreated a good portion of a Star Trek ship in minecraft. Was it merely a slow news day then as well?
You aren't teaching kids anything here, 'cept that adults & authority is a bunch of hypocrites.
For Example, you didn't bother using paragraphs in your post, and yet here you are in charge of making lists of words that are being censored. What does that show kids?
Also, you censor words that are used in every day life and mainly in schools. Dick? Vagina? How the hell is someone supposed to write anything that has to do with human biology or the reproduction system? Or do they use words now like tallywacker for dick and, um, cooch? err, pooky? Kitty? What you using for vagina?
What are you teaching the kids here anyways? That some things don't deserve being called by proper names, even when all of use have one or the other?
How about this. You dont' censor any words, and if you get kids that like to use them inappropriately, you educate them the correct way to use those words. You know, do your fucking job, instead of having a computer do it.
Seriously dude, I am so glad I don't have kids thanks to people like you, who think you are doing good, but are doing some of the worse possible harm to children that you could do short of actually touching them. God, there is so much wrong with what you are doing it's pitiful, but whatever. If your too stupid to understand, then nothing i'm going to say will change that.
I can understand the school's desire to maintain a certain level of maturity, but this needs to be the job of the parents and teachers, not the technology. As a father of two boys, I want them to have the opportunity to act stupid, so I can correct them and tell them what is and is not appropriate. I don't want a computer enforcing that for me.
I am of the opinion that such censorship maintains immaturity. Everyone curses. Learning where it is appropriate and where it is not is a part of growing up, and school children should be able to figure out for themselves where it fits. Certainly I would expect to see many of those words appear in any kind of creative writing homework.
When I was in 3rd & 4th grade, I had to go a private christian school. 5th grade, I go back to public school. Now, all the kids are swearing and crap, and I'm not. When i was in 2nt grade, the kids didn't run around swearing, and they sure as hell (see, I learned how to) didn't at the private school (see, i can do puns also). So here I am, in 5th grade, like 11 years old, and I don't know how to swear correctly, so I had a lot of catching up to do.
Ya, I probably did it wrong at first. swore too much, used the wrong swear word. didn't probably swear when i should of , all because I wasn't around it when other started up. I was laughed at and an outcast (not really, made that up to make the story sound better). Do you want that to be your kids? I hope not, get them learning to swear earlier and proper so it doesn't affect them later in life.

That is the stupid post I've seen on slashdot in awhile.
I know you didn't RTFA, but even then, you shouldn't of came back with such a stupid post.
So, let me educate you.
A computer isn't the peripherals attached to it, the computer is basicly, the main board with cpu, memory, and connections to interact with it. Which the Raspberry Pi has. It has usb ports, HDMI/composite port, memory, cpu. Guess what genius? It's a fucking computer.
You want software? They got linux running on it yet, which is clear from the summary (you did at least, read that?).
But ya, you can use it as another media player. shit, it's small, it's light, don't take up much power, get the Model B version and you got ethernet. Plus it into a NAS via USB 2.0 and you got yourself a media player. oh, you didn't want another media player? my bad, you did noticed this article was about playing Quake 3 on it, right? You do know that isn't a movie or song, right? It's a game. A computer game. And guess what? It runs on the Raspberry Pi!!!!
Like i said, you have a stupid post, and well, my opinion of you now is your dumber then a box of rocks and i hope to god you don't breed, because if your kids are twice as smart as you, they are still pretty damn stupid.
You have to be popular, have to do the latest stuff. and now your crying because your stupid.
Guess what? I didn't join Google+ and it doesn't affect me!!!!
I can use fake names in my google crap, and not worried that i'm going to get my shit shut off.
See, I don't have to be the first person on crap, and I don't have to use social networks to validate my self worth.
And I'm not crying because Google did a bait & switch, or some weird crap with this google+
Do I think google is bad, or evil because of the stuff they are pulling with Google+? no, not at all. They are trying to make something that will be used more then facebook or something, and hell, all power to them. And maybe i'll join a year or so down the road when all the kinks and crap and figured out. maybe i won't. But I sure as hell won't join it now when they don't even seem to know exactly what they are doing with it. But then, I don't care if you know exactly what song i'm listening to (Blancmange, Game Above My Head), or what my current favorite series is on TV (Switched at Birth, Vanessa Marano is hot). Or what sort of porn my utorrent client is downloading (Gay Rhino Porn). See, somethings don't matter, but damn, people want everyone to know what they are doing.
Anyways, thanks for the rant, time to smoke weed, and read more posts bitching about google+ (which seems to be taking the place of posts bitching about facebook these days).
I think anyone who's had a TV that used rabbit ears and you had a channel or 2 that always seem to come in better when your touching the antenna's won't be surprised that clothes with antenna's built in would work better then normal antenna's.
So, when is the arresting officer going to be charged with violating the civil rights of the videographer? Don't police make some sort of oath to uphold the law, and this ruling makes it clear that the officer violated the law, thus breaking their oath, shouldn't that get them fired as well?
The real issue here is "government violates the law with impunity and nobody cares."
The video taper should take the police officer(s) to civil court then.
what, wait for the government to do it? you kidding? like the prosecutor is going to want to charge police officers, the same people the prosecutor works with, with criminal charges for video taping people. Will rarely happen.
But damn, take the piggies to civil court and you then you might start seeing change.
The touchpad was simply overpriced. If HP had sold it for, say $150 for 16GB, and $200 for 32GB, it may have sold better to begin with. The crazy rate that everyone sold out of all stock means that there are now a whole lot of WebOS tablets in people's hands now. App developers saw a huge spike in downloads after the sale. Getting WebOS out there, people will see what it is like and perhaps not settle for the inferior interfaces of Android and iOS.
HP's own tablet making may be dead. WebOS isn't quite done yet. Wouldn't it be cool if Dell got into the tablet business and licensed WebOS for them...
All the tablets are overpriced.

yes, they can be selective in their leaks. In fact, they could decide to never leak anything again, or they could decide to sell their website, or they could decide to all get sex changes and show documents on how it was done.
They could also throw me a birthday party with clowns & lots of hookers.
Any other really stupid questions you want to ask?
When did /. become a tabloid?
Here I am thinking your the stupid person alive on this planet, and here i am being trolled.
good one, you got me.
Disclaimer: I haven't ever played Minecraft, so I might not understand the fuss properly. Please feel free to educate :)
Haven't games within games been around for a heck of a long time? There are loads of mods that either emulate classics or offer a totally new unrelated game to players. Heck, I recall even playing texas hold em with guildies during raids through an ingame mod when I was playing Warcraft.
What is so special about minecraft that it makes so many stories? Is it just purely flexibility and users being imaginative, or is there a particular reason that /. loves it so? I recall a post a few months ago about a guy who recreated a good portion of a Star Trek ship in minecraft. Was it merely a slow news day then as well?
What, google doesn't work for you?
Censoring is wrong. plain and simple.
So are no students going to graduate cum laude?
Isn't that what they do later at the graduation party?
I hope not, get them learning to swear earlier and proper so it doesn't affect them later in life.
my god, think of the children, please!
And people barely notice.
Average consumer: "What good is a $35 PC if I have to buy a $1000 Monster(R) HDMI cable to connect it to my TV?"
rofl.
I found one of the stupidest post ever on slashdot today (http://hardware.slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=2401770&cid=37233534) and your is probably one of the funniest I've ever seen also.
But it has neither the software support nor the peripherals to be a computer, rather than just another media player.
I hear you all crying, and i'm laughing at you.
The price you listed is a great price and why no one is pursing this market is stupid.
