I'm a big Doctor Who fan (points if you know which episode my name is from) and I understand the series isn't for everyone.
If your not into black & white TV, old school BBC, or not totally realistic special effects, then your best bet is to start with the Doctor Who reboot, namely, when they picked it up back in 2005. If you enjoy the episodes, then you might find you want to see what all the hub bub is about.
Note: Everyone has their favorite doctor and suggest you start there.
I love Tom Baker (and Slyvestor McCoy), but you'd be missing out.
I suggest you start at the beginning. You can skip the episodes that don't have film of all the parts, because even I find them boring (and i'm a fan). Sure, the 1st Doctor is cranky, the episodes are in black and white, and no nudity. But honestly, the stories are pretty good.
2nt Doctor I like, but then I'm part scottish, so go figure.

The writors got really fucking lazy during Jon's years, and we get the same villian for like 20 episodes in a row. Granted, the Master rocks, but I tend to like him more later on myself.

Just sayin', based on my experience living in Latin America. Most of the time government offices are so sluggish (sometimes deliberately so), that you HAVE to grease the wheels if you want things done before you lose serious revenue. Clearing customs, currency exchange (where the government controls it), assorted permits... most new providers are shocked to learn how much these things can take.

Very smart, high quality production. Where did they find these unknown actors? They are as good as any on TV. As for the story, it's high brow and inventive. Had never heard of Vodo. Now I'm keeping my eyes on it as well as on Cinema Purgatorio.

So you may end up eating rats and bugs. Make sure that you don't puncture the rat intestine and spill rat feces all over that delectable rat meat when you're cleaning that rat. And rats, though they may grow to be large, are still rats and not much more meat than a single drumstick.

The interesting thing is how good IE9 actually is compared to the older versions. It's a huge advancement from Microsoft and provides browser for casual people that also supports all the newest standards like HTML5 and is extremely secure. Firefox is currently the only browser lacking plugin sandboxing.. They're really lagging behind, and Microsoft has taken over Firefox.

But based on past experience, I will NOT EVER use a Internet Explorer version, unless it's to download firefox/chrome or something.

I am of the opinion we will see more revolutions, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and even possibly Iran. This will get real interesting, especially if places where the oil interest become threatened. $10 a gallon average U.S. gas price this summer anybody? Isn't it interesting that social media and modern technology have done more for the desire for democratization than most of our cold-war efforts ever did? Caveats to the benefits of revolution are, however, numerous.
Who will fill the power vacuum? Will the next party be worse than the prior? Is it worth the bloodshed and genocide? Will the county's stability spiral downward, further lowering standards of living and liberty? Interesting times we live in...
