    There IS a difference between the following concepts: "Obey and agree or GET OUT" vs. "If you aren't happy here, maybe you would be happier elsewhere" Most of us would reject the former, while expressing the latter or something like it. The thing is, we know that deep down they believe that the US is still preferable, even when they may talk like a spouse in a bad marriage they are not inclined to leave.

    I live in North Dakota, which is a state which requires a registered nurse to have a four-year degree in nursing. I don't know if any other states do or not. Don't be so quick to assume your local standards, or lack of them, are universal.

    E85 (85% ethanol, 15% gasoline) is used here (North Dakota) and was $1.69/gal vs. regular gas at 2.19/gal. The local cab company uses it and needs about 20-25% more than gasoline to go the same distance. That makes it a slight advantage, since you get more horsepower and it keeps the engine cleaner.

    The internment of the Japanese was upheld as constitutional by the Supreme Court in Korematsu. The case has yet to be overturned, though it is of doubtful precedential value. Still, FDR literally did not violate the constitution as interpreted by the country's highest courts.

    I'm sure the Japanese-Americans were greatly comforted by this.

    Countless species/genera/etc. have died out in the last few billion years for any number of reasons. 30 entire genera were wiped out by Native Americans (according to a college prof I had). Stuff happens.

    Goodbye, polar bears. I will miss you. Say hello to the dodos. We'll be along eventually.
