Can you imagine having to take a crap out back in blizzard weather?
What was the psyche when locomotives were being developed? The ability to travel faster than a horse must have been pretty amazing then. I wonder if anyone had any breathing problems with the speed.
At this point in internet evolution, most people that have AOL have it because of the email address and don't mind missing the $25 discretionary income.
I wonder what would happen if a subscriber didn't update their credit card info once their card expires to let the account lapse.
Isn't RAR proprietary? Isn't that what the poster is trying to get away from?
Last I checked, RAR compression isn't available on any default installation of Linux, Windows, or Mac.
RAR may be the best or versatile but every time I've had to un-RAR something, I either used a trail version or a cracked version. Not something I want to trust 15 years later.
The bare bones Xbox360 costs just as much as the OS for Ultimate Vista. You can do more with $400 on an Xbox than a media with a paid-for key with Vista.
The fact that the solar radiation has increased has been accounted for and blamed on Americans driving SUVs and George Bush.
And blame the Chinese pollution problem on America too because they should all be in cold, damp, and dark huts with no jobs and no food to feed themselves. That is until they find that fish that grants wishes then we can all have rainbows and Skittles.
I'm sure plumbers would mind you calling it a U-bend as much as you(we) would mind plumbers calling a data port a phone plug or calling Internet Explorer 'the internet'.
To bring this together, my odd setup was for a trucking company. A full rack with UPS, 3 servers, PRI feed - all in the bathroom. Yeah, try to find the least hostile place where everyone smoked and the bathroom was it.
Macs don't prohibit a general creation of an audio/video file and degrades the content as part of a file I/O process. According to the article, Vista does.
iTunes and iPod have nothing to do with file degradation within the OS. Those are just programs/devices.
While I'm not an iPod owner, I heard this Zune thing was poised to take over the portable media market. It did record numbers for November. It'll probably beat last years sales for December too.
DLP is a better price per pixel vaue. My money is DLP over LCD and Plasma.
SED is vaporware - development for 20+ years and still nothing to show for it. We'll see SED displays when Best Buy has a 4 foot section dedicated to Linux.
Laser TV looks promising but so does SED. They're both nonexistent at the moment.
Years ago (5-6), could even be current, the Toshiba laptops were the top of the line for media.
I used to consult for an IMAX company and only the Toshiba laptops could handle the output resolution required for the DLP projectors. Not even the top of the line Powerbook could handle it.
You're in the same camp I'm in. I thought "The Lost Room" was the last bit of interesting TV I've seen in a while. South Park is a mainstay for me but other than that, if it's popular, it'll be on YouTube and that's how I'll see it.
Gone are the days of "Must See TV" with Cheers, Seinfeld, The Cosby Show and even then, some of that was crap too.
I still record on tape because it's portable. What I record is OTA anyway so it isn't HD in my case. I can take the tape and move it to another machine or another house and it still plays. Is a digital solution better? Yes the the current landscape is prohibitive and doesn't cater to the consumer.
DVRs are tied to the display device or it's primary display device. Moving content is a PITA. THAT is the reason why I haven't bought the DVR bandwagon. And then, only HD-DVRs are worth the hassle.

I say batch every old document to PDF then you don't have to worry about Microsoft anymore.
What an assinine piece of crap OOXML is.
The plumbing term is a `trap`

Don't understand what you're talking about.
Macs don't prohibit a general creation of an audio/video file and degrades the content as part of a file I/O process.
According to the article, Vista does.
iTunes and iPod have nothing to do with file degradation within the OS. Those are just programs/devices.
Too many cooks...
Well, those AOL users had to go somewhere once they dumped AOL.
...And weight in stones.
Highly misleading.
30. The brain is soft and gelatinous - its consistency is something between jelly and cooked pasta.
You mean that we didn't know that years prior?
31. The Mona Lisa used to hang on the wall of Napoleon's bedroom.
You mean they found it 'this year?'
While I'm not an iPod owner, I heard this Zune thing was poised to take over the portable media market.

Becuase CRTs are heavy.

...and the thing is very fast.
So you're either running Windows 98/2000 or Linux, right?

I think another point of hybrids is for commuters in stop & go traffic. Less wear and tear on the transmission.
I wonder if that was a typical 'accounting' issue.
"Yeah, the stuff in this box is over 20 years old, let's store it"
It's like putting the original Mona Lisa in the basement in favor of something new.

Isn't it .002 cents or .002 dollars per KB?
Unless the deer is saying SHOOT ME, C'MON, it's not entrapment.
It's no more entrapment than a cashier opening their drawer and walking away while you steal their money.
Looks like I just have to sign up and get this thing, Buzz.
Telengard for the Commodore64 was written in Basic.
Very easy to give yourself the advantage.
Except when the planet shifts orbit, the whole planet is dead.
