If IE does not implement them, they will be simply ignored.
I disagree. As long as the site doesn't entirely *break* under IE, a lot of webmasters will want to play with the cool new toys. Take transparent PNG's for example - IE doesn't support them (to my knowledge) but they are starting to crop up everywhere because they're a REALLY DAMN GOOD IDEA.
I'd love to see a small box instead of a tower. Worked great for Sun's "pizza box" and "lunch box" server models, and those are even stackable.
It sounds like your want a mini XServe on your desk.
Hate to say it, but I seriously doubt that'll happen. It wouldn't work well with any of the current Apple monitors - namely, LCD's - unless they made it shallow as well. (And isn't the main reason of having a pizza box form factor to put the monitor on top of it?)
And what does making it stackable do for home users? Absolutely nothing - if someone has more than one Mac in their home, it won't be in the same place.
The eMac works out better than the pizzabox-plus-monitor setup, anyway. There wouldn't be any place for such a computer.
I had a 16MB thumbdrive - can't remember the brand - but it was lost, found without the protective cap being kicked around on the floor of our hallway at school. It's, oh, 2 years old now and currently being used (third owner) by a friend of mine. Still Works. (TM)
You can make a RAID array out of the most expensive drives on the market, can't you? So the 'Inexpensive' seems to mean nothing as well.
Maybe they changed the definition to "Redundant Array of Inexpensive Drives" and tried to tell you. But the envelope was addressed "For loose electron" so you thought it was from you instead of to you and.... you know, sometimes it's just easier to call you stupid.
(Note: that's a Family Guy reference as opposed to trolling.)
The logic behind Apple sticking with a one-button mouse (as someone had to explain to me recently) is actually pretty sound - they don't want to bury every possible option under context menus. Context menus should be the exception, not the rule. Don't put anything in a context menu if it'll be just as well served being in a toolbar button or the top menu.
At least that's the logic. I personally have a 5-button tilt-wheel mouse plugged into my Powerbook most of the time, but more and more, I find myself ignoring it for everything but the scroll wheel - the trackpad is just right there, and Control is too.
You can drag and drop stuff all over the place in Mac OS X. True, not EVERY application supports drag and drop. However, it's a high enough percentage that if this functionality isn't included, you can probably find another program that *does* have it. Text, graphics, URL's, even entire address book entries are handled (usually) intelligently. Drop a person from your address book to the Mail.app icon, it starts a new message to that person - drop it on an Address Book Group, the person is added to the group. It's only slightly less flawless for non-Apple applications, but there's almost always basic drag-and-drop functionality, because it's built in to Apple's developer templates and objects.
I agree with one of the other posters who said the highlighting thing is "unintuitive" - it is. Copy and paste is better, but drag-and-drop is about as intuitive as it gets - though I am glad splat-C and splat-V are there.

I can't compare to G4 as I never saw G4 before the merge, but TechTV definitely had a lot of reruns. I know I saw the same episode of Wired for Sex a good six times....
A very good six times...;)

Sure, once they got rid of Chris Perillelilllo.

"Invent This" has nothing to do with the G4 merge (though I agree it sucks). If you want to discuss TechTV shows being overrun with crappy G4 shows, let's talk "Players". A bunch of celebrities who might (I think?) know how to press a button in a favorite video game that stars (surprise!) them. Ugh.
Bring back Tech Live please (or move it back to its old time slot, if it's still there.)
One thing that struck me is that if it's "styled like an iPod" (possibly to appeal to Mac users?) then why the hell is it USB 2.0? OS X's implementation of USB 2.0 absolutely blows - slower than Firewire 400 (iPod's primary connection).
Get me one of these that plays music and connects via firewire, and I'll....wait a second....
That's not my experience. When you plug it in to Firewire, The big "International No" sign comes up and it says "Do Not Disconnect", and the music stops, and none of the buttons do anything until I eject the iPod.
I wonder what the difference is (or if we're just misunderstanding each other). I have a brand-new 15GB, 3rd-gen iPod, and am using it in auto-sync mode, and mount it as a disk on OS X.3.4.
Maybe one of you who *can* play music while it's mounted could post your data, and we can figure out why yours plays and mine doesn't?
No. You're wrong. A jump in the gas tax would convince many people to stop driving gas guzzling SUVs and start driving subcompacts.
No, YOU'RE wrong. In Europe, where gas prices are ridiculously high compared to the US, guess what? SUV's are just as popular, and hybrids are no easier to find.
I was bored, so I Googled.... and apparently, it's already copyrighted.
In fact it already *has* been spelled sempr0n. Allow me to link you.
If I had to guess, they probably wanted AAC's bookmarking ability.

Maybe a new iMac could be built into the back of the LCD itself? The disc slot could be a small thingy that slides out from the bottom.

Hhehehehehehe.... I love that idea. It's so deliciously evil,
But then the catch-22 - this program would have a database of all your passwords, and would probably be hackable.
