If you have faith in OpenBSD developers, why not use the OS instead of trying to port CARP to other OSes? It will run best on OpenBSD, plus it has the great pf packet filter.
Here's the difference: People want Java, people don't want DB2. Thus IBM should open source DB2 and Sun should keep Java.
You don't know anything about software!!!!

I don't see that a good thing necessarily. I've gone through the pain of compiling programs that had dozens of libraries needed because the author was too lazy to write a single function.
Having all these libraries an arm reach away has made modern programmers lazy and less knowledgeable. However, I do agree such libraries as GTK+ are needed.
Nice to know 3 million dollars buys you a roll over and placement.
What the hell did they do to the HUMVEE that made it roll over? I know HUMVEEs and HUMMERS, they don't roll easily.
Nintendo is pretty big over seas. Nintedo 64 was a great console. It seems that GameCube flopped because of poor quality games, even things like Mario Kart weren't new and great.
I don't think Nintendo will make the same mistake twice.
Let's see. The range finders can't tell you what angle the vehicle is at, can't tell you the size of objects, or if an object is moving. Blah blah blah blah.
There are a lot of faults with your idea. But I do agree, $3 million is a lot to spend on this and the team who spent that barely has an "autonomous" vechicle since they have to pre-plan the whole course the vehicle will take.
Can someone explain why open source projects are rejecting the new XFree86 license? I looked it over and it looked OK to me, at least for BSD-licensed projects.
Will this be including the Linux version of the game, like 2003 did? Maybe they'll be nice to us this time and put a notice on the box stating Linux version included.

The NetBSD Foundation would like to dedicate the NetBSD 1.6.2 release to the memory of Erik Reid, who went missing and is presumed dead in a sailing accident on 18 February 2004. Erik's contributions to NetBSD included work on support for SGI MIPS R4000, integrating XFree86 Direct Rendering Interface (DRI), and managing the build lab. His death came as a shock, and he will be greatly missed by all of us. May he rest in peace. "
Isn't that what the sci-fi writers of the 1940s/1950s thought the future would be like? After all, the Empire State Building has a blimp port at the top.
I'll stick with good old ozone layer killing cars, thank you.
Has anyone thought about adding embedded Python to OpenOffice for macro usage? If you consider what else Python can do, HTTP requests for example, you could really extend OpenOffice's documents.
That's great....

That's great, I get to see the first page then it's Slashdotted.
I completely agree. So, how about you lend me $250k so we can prove me wrong? :)
That is if you believe nVidia's claim that the Xbox runs at 80 gigaflops.

They go from lying to you subliminally to lying to your face.
Allows you to search all kinds of papers, including technical paper.s
Oh wait...

It's called Google.

Alright, cool... But can it play Max 300 on hard in DDR? Yeah, I thought not.
You can cross-compile anything with NetBSD. I've never done, there are some instructions on the website though.

Just thought I'd point it out.
Maybe it will be Slashdot because of all the anti-SCO feelings we have :-D
Always stepping on the little guy, makes me sick.
Can't you remove the DRM from the MP3s once this comes out? All you have to do is redirect the stream to a file instead of a MP3 decoder, no?
Add a bomb to it and we can have some fun with it! :-D

Who would have thought a simple CSS remover would create such news ;)
