Anyone notice how the first three movies all had a good chunk of time allocate to space/ship battles? While the new movies have practically none? I hope those X-wing looking thngs are indicative of things to come. Though, I am disapointed at not seeing any Z-95s.
"Put another way (and quite roughly), Chinese writing is a subset of Japanese writing."
I disagree with that statement entirely. The majority of Kanji symbols can be found in Chinese symbol set; there are some exceptions where the Japanese invented their own characters such as the symbol for cultivated feild (hatake). Most of the katakana are radicals in chinese characters, though I haven't been able to find a similar corespondance with the hiragana.
The converse cannot be said for Chinese characters. There are a large amount of chinese characters that don't exist in Japanese, compared with a small amount of Japanese kanji and phonetic characters that don't exist in chinese.
Curious. When you say he 'visualizes' the numbers does that mean he visualizes their arabic representations or does he have his own visual abstraction?
Reminds me of my 1st year where I learned why living in residence sucks... the walls are paper thin, the food stinks and the internet sucks. Do what I did - get a real place off campus.
My philosophy on self awareness is that an being is self aware when it has the capacity to perceive how other beings perceive it, or the world. I.E. being able to look through someone else's eyes.
The fact that I can *play* a CD means that I can pipe the output to say oh a file somewhere and use that as a master copy. If I can read the data even once then I can get around the copy protection. Of course they could start making unreadable CDs but I don't think they would sell too well.

All your senator are belong to us.
China != USA, they do not *try* to bullshit everyone into believing that they live in a free society.

Slashdot needs a 'paranoid' modding option.
You call the crummy red light a useful feature?
When will they learn that you can't solve everyone problem by adding more layers of legislation.
Would that really work? Presumably the console would have to decrypt the data which would mean that the key is already in the hands of the enemy.

Heh. Originally read that as "I will be sending my four-year-old to a school in Uganda this fall"
Would it still be a trojan if they only had an 'Okay' button?
