  1. What about precision??? on Simulating Supernovae with Graphics Cards · · Score: 4, Interesting

If I understand correctly graphics cards don't implement IEEE floating point standard. This means that you can expect all kinds of wierd problems with complicated floating point computations ahref=http://www.cs.berkeley.edu/~wkahan/ieee754st atus/754story.htmlhttp://www.cs.berkeley.edu/~wkah an/ieee754status/754story.html>. In the other place he had bathroom on the second floor right above his new kitchen. The problem was that the drainage pipe from the toilet would have to go right through the center of his kitchen table (building code doesn't allow bending the toilet drain too much).

When I was writing software OEMs would "loan" us computers, printers, anything - just to make sure that our program is compatible with their hardware. And I worked in a small company (20 people when I started, ~50 when I left).

You yourself resort to semi-truths and "spin". You say "These are human babies." These are embryos that would be destroyed anyway. They are not going to become babies, ever. They were not created for experiments by mad scientists. They come from fertility treatment. Why waste them?

Privately funded research lead to the breakthrough which made embryonic stem cell research possible in 1998, however, prompting the Clinton Administration to develop federal regulations for its funding.
