Hm. I thought that by submitting the code to LKML for inclusion, you were yielding your copyright to Linus... if that's not the case, then I will halt this deal based on the 8 lines or so I contributed to the software raid startup code =D.

Well, while I think progressive taxation is the way to go, it sounds like you're in favor of an income cap? Correct me if I misunderstood you... I think that would be problematic in that it would quash any incentive for a person to be productive once they hit the magic number.
> Increasing Government spending pushes him completely in the opposite direction.
Nonsense. You seem to think that we on the left like spending for its own sake, but that's a silly myth. If there was a way to feed the hungry, cure the sick, and house the homeless and generally provide for a high standard of living for all Americans for free, then we'd be first in line to flatten government spending. As of right now there isn't, so we insist that the super-rich pay their fair share back into the system from which they draw so much.
Being a democrat doesn't exempt one from being a right-wing asshole. Zell Miller. QEMFD.
The whole permanence of copyright, police power of corporations movement that's going on is a very right-wing view, irrespective of the individuals who are at the head of it. Anybody who thinks that file swappers should go to jail is, IMHO, a right-wing asshole by definition.

Still, the CO model seems like the path of least resistance; you can talk all day long about how great it would be to ditch the EV system nationally, but at the end of the day, you've got to convince the national Democratic and Republican parties who collectively control... well, every branch at every level of government, to let others join in their reindeer games. They'd be insane to allow that to happen.

Are you in Colorado? Then fight like hell to pass the referendum allowing electoral college votes to be assigned proportional to the popular vote. Not in CO? Then fight for a similar ballot referendum in your state. This could be the beginning of the rise of the Third Parties.

George Carlin did, and here's what he came up with: "Obedience, respect for authority. Just another name for controlling people. The truth is that obedience and respect shouldn't be automatic. They should be earned and based on... performance."
While it's true that I don't "personally" like Bush, that's not why I/we disrespect him. It's based on his performance.
Well, I seriously doubt that the processor of the device (or the SD-bus for that matter) could push enough bits to make a difference. However, even at 11mb rate, there's another good reason to do the 11g protocol: access points running in pure G mode. If you have a G router and you enable the backwards-compatibility for 11b, you cut your throughput almost in half.
> That's just plain wrong. If you don't like someone, then debate them - don't try to shut them up.
I agree, and if it really is a group of Kerry-supporters doing this (which I doubt) then they need to knock it the hell off. Of course, playing devil's advocate for a moment, they probably feel they're leveling the playing field since the entire mainstream media in the U.S. is working double overtime shifts trying to reelect Bush and shouting down, marginalizing or just plain ignoring any facts that might hurt Bush or help Kerry.
