Well, it's not like you're going to be carrying the thing on the top of your head (at least I hope not), so really, the 1m distance is pretty relative to where MOST people would drop it from -- their waist.
As stated in one of the replys to your post, the DoD will probably be offering a long term contract to manufacture similar vehicles for actual combat/whatever use.
The DoD has already done this with the new-gen X planes, as seen on PBS' NOVA.
The DoD's JSF competition will probably end up paying the winner (Lockheed) some $1T in total contractual monies.
But I heard on the radio heading to work today that Microsoft wants to put some sort of simple logic (math or copying a string of chars) problem that you have to solve before sending an email. Besides Microsoft being behind it (Patents are pending I'm sure:(), it actually sounds like a decent idea.
Wow...I didnt figure that the margin between Intel/AMD was so close...I always have just assumed that as far as gaming went, AMD had a significant lead.
