I remember in 1999 I was working in an ISP with both MSDN and Technet subscriptions back to 1996.
There was too much local Technet and MSDN cd's which we didn't use at all, stuff like original IIS 1.0 Koreans or Visual Basic 4 Albanian.
It was collected on 3 larg plastic bags as bulk garbage, waiting for someone to get paied in order to just transfer them to trash.
I was thinking of using one of them under my cofee cup. Kindda geek stuff when you put your cup on a Japanees Visual C++ 4 CD, I thought. So I asked the manager if I can have some of those 'garbage' cds.
He looked at me with a 'Master-to-slave-look' but confusing, trying to understand how can someone ever ask for something like that. Well I got some anyway and consequently used some of them at home with the same purpose which in turn was discovered by my fellow geeks and they asked if they can have some too!
In less than 3 days I was spending some times daily to look through the plastic bags and find some 'special orders' by my friends, like '-hey can i have a japanees Visual Fox Pro?...' and I even went to: 'well believe me danny I searched them all there is no any [country_name] left anymore, do u want a [another_country_name]?...'
At The end they offered me to have all 3 bags at once, in order to stop wasting my work time everyday looking through them which I accepted immediately!

Yes, despite your great unbelief, This IS the procedure, that is why MS encourage end-users to turn Automatic Updates Service and Background Intelligent Transfer Service on by default so they recieve the latest update as fast as possible.
RTM version is offered to OEMs so they can start the production line. By the time the real pc is on the desktop of end-user, There are other minor additions in designated SP.
Which will be updated as soon as end-user connects his pc to internet by Automatic Updates Service which will notify Windows Updates V5 Website of RTM label, then Windows Update Website V5 will adjust the updates level to comply with RTM Standards and finally will remove RTM version from winver and this means PC is upgraded to Full SP and from then on will be treated by Windows Update Website V5 accordingly.

The same procedure happened to WinXP SP1.

Please don't misunderstand.
The version offered early this month by MS was a RTM version.
The RTM releases are mainly for buisneses and corporate customers even though they are publicly available.
However, It's not the final version.
Once SP2 CD is available for order and MS is officially stateing on its main XP Pages that SP2 is here, there will be another SP2 Release.
They did this same thing with SP1 however they never mentioned that the RTM SP1 was slightly different from the GOLD SP.
Once the SP2 GOLD is released the RTM tag will not be on your MS About/version windows. It will just be SP2.
Are they claiming that with adding SSL and Digital Signatures to a rip-off version of BitTorrent, you can actually get a 'Net-Gen' P2P systems?
If that is the case, FileTopia and BitTorrent itself are the first 'Next-Gen' P2P Systems! Because They both support strong EC ciphering and there are lots of options already presented for further development of BitTorrent as a secure P2P system, for use it either as a public or a private system
Many times we wasted our times on what is called "Paralleled Projects". Developers scattering around in different projects that ultimately all deliver one thing. Once again, Why not just work together and instead of spending 4-5 years here on this project, just try to participate in BitTorrent project and contribute as much as you like.
'' It describes how some companies have even started summer camps to attract high school girls into high tech."
The problem is that average Samantha and Mary-Jane of 17 y.o. are more interested in going to "fun-camps" in the summer rather than planning seriously in high-tech like god's forbid learning C++ in 3 months or something in that caliber. It is very difficult to attract a high school girl to IT because there are lots of other thing in that age that are more important for a young girl than sitting in an boring IT camp.
While even average Jack-The-Skript-Kiddy knows exactly in his age of 17 knows that he is interested in IT in some sort or another. Today he is a malware programmer, tomorrow, after he is caught and his conviction is served and he is free, he may have a job as a security manager somewhere. That is because teenage boys and girls respond very differently to new and challenging ideas.
It's very strange to see that big corporations like IBM are acting so amateurism.
MS released RC1 so that companies can test their internal applications and get themselves ready for the final showdown of SP2. But what they did instead? I guess they were just walking around in IT Dept. and drinking their coffee and browsing slashdot, in the hope that MS gets bankrupted before they release SP2 so IBM guys don't need to patch and fix their internal applications.
In our company of 300 employees, we tested SP2 way back to RC1 and from almost 14 days before , we were totally ready for the final release of SP2.
about wolves attacking his flocks...untill one time it REALLY happened and no one believed him anuymore.

The Fake menubar is a lame attempt which only fools the average IE users. I am sure each of us has lots of extensions installed in our FireFox menubar. So what is the use of a fake menu bar with standard icons?
If I go visit a paypal site, in a new pop-up window, with standard icons which i certainly changed 3 years ago and the fact that the window is not tabbed along with the fact that non of the menubar submenus actually works, wouldn't i be like hey...wait a mniute!!! It's all wrong! This is not what is supposed to be!
So who they are fooling?
We all know for whom this trick works. The people, hearing about all FireFox buzz and fuzz recently, trying to use it and think about it in the wy they use IE for all of their short internet life.
Not only it doesn't work on MAC, but also it won't work for average FireFox users.
So it also will not stop me to use my FireFox! I just report it as a bug, that's all!

CNET article reveals again how some corporations refuse to pressure on the government of those countries mentioned for the sake of freedom and democracy rather than hiring them as a gang to "fight" piracy.
From Article:
Vietnam and China had the world's highest rates, with pirated versions accounting for 92 percent of all computer software installed in each country, followed by the Ukraine with 91 percent, Indonesia at 88 percent, and Zimbabwe and Russia with 87 percent each.
Hardee identified Vietnam, China, India and Thailand as Asian countries that need to step up their fight against piracy.
"We need to see more (government) enforcement from these countries," he said.
No Sir! What we need is delibrate enforcement from our govenrment to those governments to stop ignoring the free will of their citizens and we have to stop working with them as IF they are in the line of good. Becuase They are not!

Now all of the sudden we are "pleased" to work with Chinees Regime to crackdown poors again and ignoring all the economical facts in the region again.
Looking at the name of the other countries in the list gives us the same story too. Thialand, Zimbabwe and India are in the list of the countries who suffer the poorest population in the world.
It seems for Mr. Hardee, The ONLY thing that does *not* matter is the fate of Chinees people struggling for their freedom and democracy against a regime that works on a full power to annihilate anything comming from "outside" China.

He, (either himself or by judge rule) take the time and responsibility to wash it off the street.
Then disable both WMI and WSC Services and get yourself another personal firewall here or here.
MS opened the WMI to third-party sources and that is why we may mistakenly call it a hole, while in the reality it's an option.
If you can not pay for court expenses, at least make sure you install PeerGuardian or Protowall or make sure that at least you have a firewall to drop the ip ranges of anti-p2p organization.
