I believe your going in left field with this one. There isn't a TOS for wireless access. If you don't want someone to use it then you have to keep the radio waves out of his property. He was pretty much using the service that was trespassing on public property. It stinks that he is a sex offender because he'll be setting precedence in court by being convicted leaving the door open for other to be convicted on some charge like this. No, it isn't thinking of the children; it is just another freedom being infiltrated because I let my wireless network be used by anyone and many others do the same. Soon this might be illegal thanks to the shop.

Even better, you can go read a chat thread and it has 20 pages of 20 entries and another brilliant and insightful genius replies back sating he already answered the question and to use the search function to get the answer. What is bad, the question usually fall to the side since the rest of the group thinks it has been answered satisfactorily.

It sounds like you weren't around 20 years ago, you would know that AT&T of that time wanted to charge consumers when they hooked up a modem. It went to court and the ruling was the consumer had the right to either talk on the phone or send data over the phone. Shortly after that, AT&T was split up. The internet arrived because of competition not from a monolithic monopoly; however, all isn't that great. Back then my phone bill was ~$8 and right after the split it was ~$20. A ton of money was made during that time and the telcos had money to burn. It is pure speculation whether or not the internet would have evolved like it has today without breaking up AT&T.

As for wireless, you do know that all wireless communications (except same tower talk) goes over the land lines. You can't get away from the Telco just because you think its wireless or it as IP traffic.

As a sprint consumer, I would like to inform you that Spring Mobile Phone Corporation doesn't offer a Treo without a camera. Furthermore, Sprint will not activate your phone unless it has a Sprint stamp on it.

Second, the talk of switching from Sprint to Nextel is going to be a lost one soon enough. Sprint has talked about how they are going to switch all voice traffic to their CDMA network and use the iDEN for PTT only. Thus, the lines will converge in due time, and one can guess the phones will also.

Sprint bungled this merger - have they got the billing systems integrated yet, how about using the synergy of the towers - I work near a base and Nextel has a tower right next door and guess what I am on roam using Nextel's Tower! Sprint should have been talking with merging with Verizon instead of some 3rd technology. Sprint may have killed the current CDMA path since AT&T powerhouse has so much market presence with their massive GSM network. I prefer CDMA quality and price but I shake my head in shame being a Sprint Customer since the debacle.

From what I remember reading, it has something to do with the algorithms used (which are proprietary); therefore, if you want to use the algorithm then you have to agree to have regions "enhancement" ""Feature"".

Or worse, look at season of 24; if I want to watch the entire boatload in one setting I would have to keep the shows for nearly 6 months on my drive and then watch it. Yeah I could burn them to DVD or just rent the DVDs (which is what I did) but the problem still exists that I want it at a certain time so even TIVO can't quite fill the void. I rent a lot of TV shows that are on DVDs; if a TVoIP comes out like SBC and Verzion are ramping up for, then I am getting that system if it is something like a on demand system.
