So lemme get this straight... if it turns out the account is his... which Phonedog valued at "$340,000", if he wins, they would have to pay him $340,000 to buy it from him (since it was their company that valued it that much)...
On the other hand, if it turns out that it belongs to Phonedog, then he shouldn't owe them anything, since they would own the Twitter ID anyway (theoretically, all he would lose is access to the account).
BUT it would be an easy thing to create another account (now) and start getting people to prepare or migrate over his new account. There's no law (as long as there's no slander or libel or such...) in telling all his followers to leave the account... which would make it worthless... unless I'm missing something...
Seems like a waste of a lawsuit to me.
not to mention if your electric bill is 200.00 a month for a 2000 sqft house, 12 months * 200.00 * 30yrs = 72,000.00. almost pays for itself (over the life of a mortgage.) which after that you could retire without an electric bill in addition to no mortgage.
As far as i know, if you have a box of VHS tapes sitting next to a box of DVD discs in storage, and someone or something passes next to it with a large magnetic field, the DVDs won't be erased in the blink of an eye.
actually, that's not the same thing... it'd be more like if the municipal courts put a bench out in the park that only court personnel could use, but they had no signs sign or barracades indicating that the public weren't supposed to be sitting on it. Stealing the bench is like actually physically taking the AP, which is actual theft of private property.
heh, especially trying to rhyme "Richmond" with "fond". only eminem can make two entirely different sounding words rhyme... and sound like they were supposed to rhyme. lol.
for one thing, if you buy a cd and share it, you're the one in the wrong... which is why the RIAA is suing all the sharers and not downloaders.
also, if you build a pool in your yard without building a fence around it, and some neighbor's kid trespasses into your yard and drowns... guess who's fault it is... it's normally a requirement in the U.S. at least to build a fence around the pool.
heh... remember "Speedscript" the word proccessor for C64... something like 10 magazine pages of small print of straight machine language...enough to make you go blind... the best part was if you didn't have a "tape player" to save the program after you finished typing all that crap... you had to leave the computer on for days, lol
How can anybody think it's OK to download something that people have to make a living off of, without paying for it? How dumb do you have to be to only realise that after being told that it's illegal?
Easily... as far as the casual internet user knows, you can download all sorts of free stuff from the internet... Adobe Acrobat Reader... Google Desktop Search... etc... Napster was just another tool... and there are free mp3's available, so it's easy to think that as long as you can find it, it must be free... (according to the casual internet user), especially since the Napster search tool itself had an easy to use GUI... as does any other tool... Copernic, Google... etc.
Actually I've been doing this for a while, but in VM-Ware... and the best way to do it is to have VM-Ware boot from an ISO of the Knoppix CD... almost as fast a booting staright from the CD the normal way. since it's not using the CD-ROM anymore.
"Bush won the popular vote, so clearly he should be the winner" I mean, last time he lost the popular, and they wanted to act like the electorial college was a great idea....
Nope, the reason they're saying it this time, is to shut up the whiners that were crying about it last time...
just because you win 50% + 1 of the votes doesn't mean you get to totally piss on the "losers".
but it sure beats 48% whining about how "Bush stole the election"
what I don't get is that the majority of Slashdot posters bitch about getting screwed... shafted... fucked... etc..etc...etc... (cause it's Microsoft) for what... 90 - 200 bucks for a copy of windows xp (which let's you play 95%-100% of all games and now I'm reading these replies saying it's ok to spend almost 5000 grand on a "gaming" machine that'll be limited to playing FrozenBubble (Since the majority of slashdot posters would have you believe that linux IS READY FOR THE DESKTOP (tm) and you can finally throw that trash M$ Windoze away...) Jesus Christ... talk about dumb logic.
My cat is silicon based.
I had a silicon based pussy once... wait...

but if you consider that they pricematch anything you find somewhere else, then technically what they're saying is true.

And then Bill Gates stares wide-eyed and says... WOW! That's a hell of an act, what do you call it? and Steve Jobs says... "The Aristocrats!"

...no shit.

yep. it works great with VM-Ware... especially booting just the ISO instead of the CD... it's faster than running the CD from the CD-ROM.
yep. it's faster booting the knoppix ISO in vmware than it is running the knoppix CD from the CD-ROM.

Thank you, someone with common sense.
Oh wait... no I can't...

Actually, It was a joke... but I'm not against guns. and your comment makes sense.
By the same token... If everyone had a copy of the latest OS, no one would steal it.
...and crime will go down.
no need. i've already got my dual 3 GHz athlon box playing Frozen Bubble. Windows Schmindows. Apple Schmapple.
