Since this is 60 to 120 times the national average there seems to be a good correlation to allow a generalized bashing of lawyers when one might more correctly aim their attacks on Congress.
The Government will fiddle with it until the internet is so broken, my old Bell 103 will be able to keep up with the fastest connection available in the US. This will work about as well as " No Child Left Behind" or "the War on Poverty" - at least we know the Social Security will be there when we need it.
FTA "Green Dam is supposed to prevent Internet users from encountering "unhealthy" content online, specifically pornography. But independent analysis of the software has found that it also blocks political content."
In China people who view certain political content tend to die young, so the government is watching out for their best interests - it is a legitimate health issue!
Is paper with soy toner theoretically easier to recycle?
As with most "green" products, I suspect that the green impact is all on the production side, with no benefit in the disposal side. Since it goes into the same waste stream as the rest of the paper, it is processed the same and the resulting benefits are negligible. If a different process were required to deal with soy based toner then there would be a net negative environmetal impact until a sufficient portion of the waste stream justifies the differential processing.
Journalists should report the news as objectively as they can. Paying attention to their readers is pandering, and it results in a feedback loop with predictable consequences. We need a thoughtful critical press capable of asking hard questions and not settling for non-answers from those in the news. We need a system in which the President (and others in power) cannot exclude a journalist because he/she asks those hard questions.
Anonymity is an interesting concept, but we should recognize that the guy up on his soapbox in Hyde Park is not anonymous even if we do not know his name.
So they just keep "two sets of books". One that is used for anyone inquiring about their vote and one that is used to report to the election commission that the highest bidder has won. Fraud is easily perpetrated on any "anonymous" system. Anonymity and verifiability are incompatible in a sophisticated system.
Airbus has had numerous problems with software that, by design, decides the pilot is doing the wrong thing and overrides his inputs. The Airbus is not capable of doing the same barrel roll that the 707 did on its first public display about fifty years ago.
How would the public react if it was known that the departures from controlled flight were due to software bugs that could not be located and corrected? Who would want to make sure that didn't get out - aside from everyone involved?
A policy such as this is likely to be interpreted as willful destruction of potential evidence in a jury trial. A purge policy should be (sound like it is) based on storage, not legal issues. If the decision hasn't been run past the lawyers, you should refuse to carry it out on the basis that you are not certain it is legal.
If I were an supervisor working at the company, giving annual reviews of my subordinates, I would need to be able to access emails to demonstrate their performance. Otherwise it would be hard to give a good raise to my best employees and warnings to my poor performers.
How often do they intend to do the purges? A shorter retention span necessitates a more frequent purge = greater cost.
IANAL, but the letter is B.S., hopefully the court will recognize that statements about people other than the defendant are irrelevant.
How are the actions of the defendant's family who are not party to the suit relevant? To summarize the letter..
We filed suit against the wrong person, other people who are not party to this suit did things we don't like, there is absolutely no evidence against the defendant or others, so the defendant should pay, and we want to retain the right to file suit against her again.
The judge should challenge the use of the word irreparable. If the damage to the case is irreparable, then the case can only be dismissed with prejudice.
Unless someone told you that those were images of Mohammed, would you have known who was depicted? What value do these images add to a piece on him (Him)? The images should be found in a discussion of iconography or religious art, but they provide no insight into, or connection to, the wikipedia article itself. They are tacked on because nobody likes to use text exclusively anymore. Take the pictures out not because having them is insensitive, but because they are inaccurate.
Also, please replace all the pictures of Jesus with ones showing distinctly Arabic features in his face.;)
No, I am not being faceteous. As I understand it, the requirement for copyright is the the copyright notice appears on the item. Since the industry only puts the copyright on the CD once, it is clear that the copyright can only apply to one item - up to now we assumed it was the album/CD collectively, but now we must assume must be the artwork on the disc. All those individual tracks out there without proper copyrights, I guess I'll get to start downloading instead of buying my music.
Technically, a great deal of copyrights are invalid since a copyright is from the date of performance, not the issuance of the album/CD/DVD and by placing the wrong date on the item, the copyright is forfeit due to the false claim.
Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) is a mental disorder that involves a distorted body image. All tool users must, apparently, suffer (or benefit) from this condition.
Fanatics of all types are what drive these forums, and we are indebted to them forever.
How is this related to DRM? Is it not possible that it is a simple bug unrelated to DRM?
Of course it is DRM!!!! DRM is EVIL, it MUST be DRM!!!
Or is it Microsoft, or Apple, or... DRM is common ground for most Fanboys.
From what I have read over the years, it is normal for a Quicktime update to break other applications, including (especially) Quicktime Pro. Could it not be that the other application was using an unsupported functionality within QuickTime? While it is reasonable to spectulate that it may be DRM related, but it is not reasonable to conclude such.
Nothing to see here, please move along - unless you have something irrational to say about a situation about which you are grossly underinformed.
1. Evolutionary timescale in a small closed society is hundreds of years, not thousands. It only takes one reproductively superior individual lacking math skills to dominate the gene pool through his/her offspring who also can't count how many people they have mated with. Do the math for a constant population of 256 people, assume that the horny, but math-challenged have 3 children who survive to reproduce while the remainder of the tribe bear sufficiently to maintain the tribe's population you will see that in as few as six generations (little over a century) the trait could dominate.
2. Unless the trait is dominant. In which case the introduced genes seldom manifest themselves.
Why don't you see how many congresspeople ARE lawyers?
A web site for the ABA young lawyers division claims 36% of all Congressmen were lawyers before being elected. http://www.abanet.org/yld/chooselaw/trivia.shtml According to the Congressional Research Service 170 members of the House and 58 Senators have law degrees http://www.chacha.com/question/how-many-congressmen-and-senators-are-lawyers There are about 1.1 million active lawyers http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_many_lawyers_are_in_the_US, or about 0.3% of the population. If we assume that number is half the trained lawyers, that is still a huge disproportionality.
Since this is 60 to 120 times the national average there seems to be a good correlation to allow a generalized bashing of lawyers when one might more correctly aim their attacks on Congress.
Personally, if it has anything to do with James Joyce; I'll wait for the Cliff Notes.

I expect that my old 56k connection will look pretty good in a little while.

Their health problems are probably associated with old age.
Didn't Urtraman's use of simirar monsters dilute the iterrectuar capitar to the point where it is no ronger inforceabre?
Obvious is to tell they can't - then they will.

POS would be a less than desirable acronym.
At some point, the lawyers prevail over the marketers.
