I too thought as you do, but was flabbergasted to find that most of the police officers in my town have master's degrees. More surprisingly, two are lawyers.
So what. I walk away from the TV when a commercial comes on (I don't have a DVR). If I don't watch commercials on TV, why would I treat web browsing differently?
This has always bothered me. Why did my tuition go up an average of 13% a year when I was in college way back in the early 80's? Where was the money going?
I live in New Jersey and am annoyed to no end that we have to pay to use the beach. Worse yet, there are some wealthier commmunities along the shore where the residents think they own the beach. They make it extremely difficult for day visitors by restricting parking and obscuring or outright hiding the beach access points between the mansions. It's sickening, but it seems that money always wins.
I own an older Porsche and I'm sure as hell not rich. Am I allowed to be philosophical? When people ask me how much I paid for it I say. it was either this or half of a stripped a Toyota Camry.
This is a datapoint for all you young whippersnappers...
Back in 1978 when I was a freshman in high school, we had a teletype terminal in a room next to the library that was tied into a GE timesharing system. In addition to Trek and Hunt the Wumpus, one of the games we played was Oregon Trail. Also, I remember playing Lemonade Stand on our schools's Apple II's. Was I playing games commissioned by the state of Minnesota, or did they just steal the ideas?
Today, having the schematics and complete technical manuals for a system would be fantastic. However, I believe that within a week, some Asian tech sweatshop would pump out cheaper clones.
If I remember correctly, that's what happened with the Apple II, no?
I don't mean it as an insult, but that's truly incredible. To me, 75 to 80 F is the perfect temperature for shorts and T-shirt during the day, and a light blanket to sleep under at night. In my opinion, using air conditioning at such low outside temperatures is a big waste of energy.
I'm curious, did you grow up in an air conditioned house? Or are you Canadian and anything over 60 F is hot?:-)
The first thing I would do is not use the word "pimp". I know a lot of people use it, but if you think about it, it should be no more acceptable than "hos" and "bitches."
Just a small data point.

Knock me over with a feather.
I wish I had mod points for you.
WTF did you expect from a MILITARY academy???
You are correct, I am wrong.
What is your favorite color? Blue, no, yellow! Ahhhhhhhhhhhh.
According to Wikipedia
Seoul http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seoul has a population density of 17,108 people/sq km
New York City http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_york_city has a population density of 27,083 people/sq km
I would say you are wrong.
The key is SHOULD HAVE, not SHOULD OF. Sheesh.

I don't get it, wouldn't you POKE or STAB someone with a pointed stick and BEAT them about the head with a (fish | club | stick | cat) etc?
Uh, actually, I took a swig of gasoline once (trying to siphon from a gas tank). It wasn't pleasant but I survived.
The only seduction I'm interested in would involve me, Danica, and Phoebe Cates. Hubba hubba

Of course! Because we're ALL winners as long as we have fun!
Smart marketing people? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! ROFL
Thank you, you made my day!
You are correct. When my kids were younger we used to go after Labor Day. That's when the water is warmest and the crowds are gone.
Good, then don't come back.
:-)
You missed some great beaches and other scenic and beautiful spots. The less the merrier I say

How about the movie "Earthquake?" It had Sensurround!
I think you're referring to a product called Solatube (or equivalent) http://www.solatube.com/

It was a mainframe at a GE site.

You need a fan for 27 degrees C?????????
Inconceivable.
