Your distro and version number (if its less than 9.0 upgrade and try again).
    Your full hardware specification
    What you found hard.

For reference : I am using Mandrake 10.0.

Software installation is done all from the GUI, with automatically solved depenencies. My Printer, Digital camera, TV card, Sound card, Scanner mouse, keyboard monitor all just automagically work!

I have KDE 3.2, which has had over a YEAR of usabillity improvements, if you are not using KDE 3.2 then upgrade and try again! OpenOffice.org 1.1 has ALL the speed problem solved, so upgrade if you are using the slow version! I can run all my legacy Windows software securly in a sandboxx using crossover.

And I have used both OSX and Linux and Mandrake linux 10 stomps all over OSX for usabillity! Its so easy to use that I removed OSX and put Linux on my mac! Its that easy! My brother who is illiterate can use linux because of the nice shiny icons that KDE provides

So if you have any of the following problems
    *Depandancies
    *Bad fonts
    *Slow office suite
    *Ugly GUI

Than upgrade your distro! Either to Mandrake 10.0, Ark Linux 11, SuSE 9.0 or Fedora 2 when it comes out!

I feel sorry for those who "Switched" from Linux to OSX. You have made a big mistake.

The latest distros have bent over backwords to be usable. I am typing this from KDE 3.2 on Mandrake 10. The easiest system ever. You can even enable Mac Emulation for Mac style menubar, dock, etc so the Mac is easier argument is now DESTROYED!

Emulation systems such as Wine, VMware, DosBox, MaconLinux etc means that you can run applications from a large variety of Non-Linux programs. In fact with these emulation systems, Linux is the universal operating system.

Linux has no single vendor or architecture. When will apple screw you out of another $129 again? Don't take the chance, if a vendor turns nasty in the Linux world, you can switch! Linux can run on macs too, so you can "switch" without having to switch to a PC.

So in conclusion, Apple is a limited platform, that is just waiting for you to be screwed. If you thought Microsoft is bad, just wait till Apple starts screwing. And it will too, remember Panther? $129 just for Expose and a Metal Finder.

Yes it rocked, yet most slashdotters don't try it because they heard that a beta version ran as root. Which is not the case. It tells you to make an account. Quite good, and I'm Glad Mandrake 10 has learn't from them because thats what I use now!

Giving a more respectable name will give it a better reputation, and will make it more recognisable as a brand. Red Hat, Mandrake, SuSE and Java Desktop all are famous Linux brands, Lindows will have to follow in their footsteps!

HUGE amounts of usabillity bugs have been fixed, and if you still find some, then report it, saying what is wrong, and how it can be fixed. I have helped fix usability problems in KDE, so I know what I am talking about. Both KDE and GNOME developers are bending their back to breaking point to fix usabillity bugs, its just that not many people are aware of this fact. Check kde-usabillity. You are welcome to join in, since you seem to understand the problems to be solved.
