I don't mean to criticize too much... but you feel so strongly about this, yet your job is to work with Office and know it at an expert level? Have you considered you are helping perpetrate the concept that Office is acceptable? In fact I'd say it's arguable that people like yourself are the biggest proponents of the idea that Office is acceptable, other than Microsoft itself. I'm guessing you are smarter and more capable than what should be required for whatever it is you are doing with Office. And the main reason for this is that the software's shortcomings need to be made up for, and in a big way beyond the capabilities of most of who the product is intended. So in a sense, your job is to make up for Office's shortcomings and make it acceptable - which at some level it must be (after applying your know-how) if someone's paying you to do this. Even if this isn't really the case, it doesn't sound like you could like your job much.

Cowboy Bebop was entertaining, forgot about that one, but I think I would still consider that on the level of a good hollywood campy action flick. I did like Princess Mononoke... actually I think I sort of forgot that that was Anime. Is it considered Anime by real fans or is it categorized with mainstreem cartoons? Metropolis had some merits.. a lot of great visuals and art, but the story was pretty predictable and also didn't make sense at some points (if I remember right). Maybe it's not fair to compare Anime to film.. looking for a Casablanca or Star Wars; I guess I am looking for an example of anime where it's good in all aspects. Most anime has moments which don't make a lot of sense and I think that is what kills a lot of them for me. Is that mostly the translation or a cultural thing.. or maybe an Anime thing?

Sorry I have mentally blocked out episodes I,II,III.. you're right about those. Anime is just another medium, but I think there is a greater percentage of bad anime than bad stuff in other areas.. films, etc. Also there aren't even what I would consider a few good ones that make it all worth it in the same way that Hollywood isn't all Hellboy (and I enjoyed Hellboy). I am pretty familiar with anime, I gave it a lot of chances before I stopped looking.. because I figured there had to be something good. One concession I will make is that maybe it's the translations. Half of dialog gets translated to "huh?", so there must be *something* missing that could make the other half not seem so idiotic. I haven't kept up with Anime in the last 5-6 years. Anything decent come out in that time? Anything older that you recommend? Please don't say lain pleasedontsaylain pleasedontsaylain.

Anime is really pretty sucky. This is one of the best series anime has to offer, and it's not THAT great. I enjoyed it, but I'd rate it somewhere just above your average B grade Hellboy/Resident Evil sci-fi/adventure, and way below Star Wars or something similar. Akira is probably the closest anime has to anything great. And yeah, that probably tics the hardcore fans off that I didn't have to watch it at an anime con (one of which I have attended, where I realized Anime does indeed suck, there aren't more series like Eva or Akira, instead there's just campy crap where a pengiun walks into the room, starts eating breakfast or drinks a beer and the room erupts with laughter). So back to Eva, I've heard the end few episodes are surreal and whatnot, not by design, but because they ran out of budget. You'd think with a format like Anime where special effects don't require millions of dollars, there would be all kinds of great stories that get told through this medium. Let's face it, Anime is pretty poor. Someone should bring back stitching together different series into one... that worked just about as well as something new.

I don't read Nature on a regular basis but I'll go out on a limb and say if they are the most respected scientific journal in the world, they're overrated. They didn't even allow their research to be reproduced. Honestly that is all I got out of this entire ordeal, that Nature's news editors are assholes. I already knew Britannica had some errors. I already knew Wikipedia had errors, and as an active contributor, I know if you actually go hunting for it, you'd find more errors, bigotry, racism and a lot of editorial style writing.

because they charge for informaton.. but to anyone who bothers to read all of the articles it does look like Britannica has some valid points. Nature didn't even provide all of the data, and they don't even bother to address this point. Nature appears pretty dishonest when they point out Britannica only had issues with less than half of the 123 errors they pointed out. That's a large enough number when the difference was 3 - 4 to begin with.

Nature could have done a better job at this. I don't doubt that Wiki is only half as accurate as Brit.. I will still use Wikipedia, but Nature did a piss poor job to rush out a controversial story.

Britannica's days are numbered, but it doesn't mean they're wrong. I guess at least now I know that Nature's editors suck.
