    WoW is available in a native universal binary for the Mac. In other words, if you have a Mac, you can play World of Warcraft.

    Ya, I too saw a demo of Transformers on a 120Hz TV in a store, and it looked really 'odd'. I don't know if it's something you get used to, or what. It actually made me a bit apprehensive about upgrading.

    Can someone explain to me why the image looks so weird? I wish I could describe it better, but I didn't sit there long enough to figure it out.

    How insightful can a comment be when even the NASA astronomers don't know what it is? It's a post of ignorance, i.e. there's nothing more to be said unless someone has more data. The funny's just filling the void that would otherwise be filled with the chirping of crickets.

    In the absence of insight, funny wins out.

    This actually, isn't unprecedented. Some scientists actually reported a drastic change on 9/11/2001. With all the airplanes in North America grounded, there was an immense reduction in global dimming.

    If you live in the US. In Quebec, almost all power is hydro. Ontario is a mix of nuclear, hydro, and coal. Many places in the US also use nuclear. France is almost completely nuclear. While nuclear is not 'renewable' it's at least not pumping out CO2 and smog.

    The exception for "non-commercial distribution" doesn't sound compatible with OSS licenses like GPL. I'm pretty sure that GPL'd code can be commercially distributed, as long as the source is made available.

    Won't help if the user is connected through a VPN tunnel. They'll be talking to one IP.

    I left Rogers due to their traffic shaping. It seems to affect some people in some locations, and not others.

    I switched to Tek Savvy, and they were amazing, until Bell started to throttle them. I hope Bell gets set straight. What they did was plain anti-competitive.

    Communism/totalitarianism == top down control of people and the economy

    Capitalism/Democracy == Emergent economy, and bottom up determinacy of government.

    Commercial software develop sounds more like communism, and OOS sounds more like capitalism. It's all about perspective.

    This cycle has been going on for 50 years. If there was anything to this, some country somewhere would have released documents proving something by now.

    And just because the government investigated UFO sightings, it doesn't mean aliens are visiting. The government investigated ESP too, and it's still hogwash.

    Why can't someone on the stand take the 5th? It's a right guaranteed by the constitution. That right doesn't exist here in Canada, but it does in the US.

    Unless you meant that it would 'look bad' if you took the 5th. It's kind of silly anyways since if you invoke the 5th, you're pretty much incriminating yourself anyways.

    I don't think that's true. Rogers only leases to one other company, 3web, and from what I've heard, they're throttled just like Rogers.

    So where do you get this notion that teksavvy can get better service from Rogers?

    But that's impossible. Bell controls the phonelines, i.e. the 'last mile'. There are only two currently viable methods to get broadband to the consumer, cable (Rogers), and the phoneline (Bell).

    The free market works great, when there's competition. But there's no competition going on here. Little guys like teksavvy only exist because Bell is mandated to lease their lines.

    With a subscription model, look at it like you're renting music every month. In that case, I could care less about DRM, as long as it worked.

    Do you get pissed off when you have to return a DVD to netflix or Blockbuster?

    You should only expect DRM free if you actually BUY the music. But if you in fact get DRM free with a subscription, that's great too!
