This intro, although a little fetched, is not very far from the truth, Linux users are but a small percentage of users, and a very troublesome percentage, there is almost no standatdization of stuff, many distros have diferent setup methods for installing programs, diferent UIs and just to many variables to take into account, then, linux is NOT for the usual badly paid HDesk person, remember that many Support lines hire poorly qualified people, so hat would be the point of hiring well paid knowlagable pros (the kind that analyze the problem instead of following writen procedures) to support a handfull of users.
As for the provide a no support Linux package, with this I couldnt agree more, I could live with a package that had no official support, but that worked on linux.

Internet access has a cost, if you use someones internet connection without his consent you are stealing his money so to speak, Maybe the dude didnt notice the slowdown, because he didnt knew how, but the bottom line is, the internet is available for all at a cost , if you want to use it, there are a million legal ways to do so, we live in a society that any children could see that if you are getting a service for free and it usually costs money there is something fishy about it, its not like a water weel that you are the only one with access to a critical resource that that you should share it with others.

Simple math, you spend 10 hours getting 1000 gold (mind that the numbers are completlly made up), chinese gold farmer spends the same time getting it, doing your job you earn 500 usd in the 10 hours if you are working instead of playing, you pay $50 USD to the chinese for the 1000 gold , you end up with 1000 gold, and 450 usd in real maney.
You can extrapolate to : for 50 usd you can still have your time free to do what you want.

Well besides the topic being a little missleading to say the least, I thought it was clear to everyone that Hollywood/Media (refered as 'they' from now on) is there to make money , no matter what, see sony for example, DRM and copy protection mechanisms are there so that you must buy several copies of the same thing , for DVD, for your PSP and so on. One of the most absurd things ive seen is the fact that it is Forbiden to try to circunvent the DVD encryption mechanism, you own a copy but if you want to make a backup you are a criminal. The sole porpose of DRM is to sell, there is NOTHING that 'they' do that has the sole purpose of beneficting the user. You think that the platinum titles are there to benefict the poor player ? WRONG !!!! they exist for 1) ressel a overly exauthed title 2) Screw up the used market.
Your experiance is NOT common, i do XP installs allmost every day and rarelly encounter any problem except for the 'must patch' before get into the net if you use a sp1 CD.
NEVER EVER had I had a problem with PS2 drivers.
dont know how youve got int such a trouble unless you built the computer with very cheap or strange hardware.
Windows can have all sorts of problems but difficult instalation IS NOT one of them.
I use Linux at home and I've never had a single instalation that was straight forward.
As for the 'free' upgrade , man what would you expect ? Service is more expensive than hardware and some software, Microsoft will offer you a free upgrade, to another OS and we are 6 monthes ahead, its up to you to install it, if you want someone else to install it , then PAY for the service. Apple does not offer the software upgrades that M$ does and i see no one biting apple. Oh BTW how was is the upgrade procedure from one fedora core version to the other ?....
Being an hardcore Amiga user for years and years (touched my first PC with windows 95), and still being an active amiga user (im Editor of Retro Review Magazine wich is still complettelly done on Amiga computers using page stream 4 just out of spite and for keeping the retro mistique within) Its with a little sadness that I keep seing this interviews and release announcements that never turn into nothing real.
Lets take a look at what the Amiga was and represented back then , In the mid 80's the Amiga was problably the most powerfull home computer one copuld have, and with powerfull I mean in almost every aspect, for example, when I first eard the word multimedia PC, I couldnt understand the concept, why ? because my Amiga had ALL the features that the oh so new Multimedia PC had, and it had them years Ago. When the PC world was DOS DOS DOS the Amiga already had a Real OS with a real Shell and a useable GUI. The amiga was/had all that one could need, Powerfull graphics, Amazing Sound, Powerfull processor and was indded ahead of its time and at an affordable price, did you know that for sometime the most powerfull mac one could have was an Amiga 4000 running Shapeshifter ( mac emulator) this was when the 68040 was released and the Amiga 4000 was released based on it (there were no 68040 based macs when this happened).
Now, lets come back to the present time, please tell me how on earth can we get these same advantages with OS4 , cmon, the hardware isnt made yet, on what will it run ? on the pathwork PPC accelerated Amigas ? with all those PCI hacks and so on ? Has anyone made a Price/performance racio on a 'powerfull' amiga and a PC/Mac running whatever OS you want ? Do you really believe a company like amiga inc can actually deliver a useable OS let alone new hardware ? How is the case with Haage & partner a leading amiga development company ? Please , If you want nostalgia, use antique amigas or whatever you like, you can even use Amiga One and call it real harware as in up to date hardware) but do not pretend that the amiga OS is but a niche OS for something that is using the name of a Great computer and is nothing like the Amiga once was.
Looking back 5 years what I can see is :
1) Cant remember last 'unexplainable' blue screen, most blue screens ive seen are due to bad drivers, and for what ive tried linux is as bad as XP (tried to run suse 10.1 on an ATI card and solved the problem switching to a nvidea one).
2) Wireless support is very good in XP SP2.
3) IE still sucks.
4) install procedure millions of milles ahed of any linux distro ive seen. I cant remember doing any linux install that i didnt have to tweak something.
5) unfortunatelly microsoft is still ahead of linux on the desktop market, cheap hardware that works right out of the box (or with a simple cd) is really good with windows. on linux you are doomed... Dont get me started with MAC OS because supporting 2 flavours of hardware is not the same as trying to support whatever you throw at it.

Since the mines will be 'intelegent' theyll have software on them, hopefully Windows:P , then its simple we use swap the mines serial number with a key found on the net, then, when microsoft shuts down all pirated windozes with the Genuine Advantage program 'voilá' all mines deactivated .

I Live in Portugal and used ebay as a seller from ~2000 until 2002 give or take a year. It was a good business and a good extra income, I sold old items and collectibles that I managed to buy in Portugal for what I believe the stuff ws 'really' worth and then sold it on ebay where I coud get a good profit. The main things that made me quit Ebay were:
1) The raise of Euro - When the US Dollar was high it was VERY profitable to sell stuff on the US not only did I made some profit from the Item but the dollar value was good for me.
2) The raise of fees by Ebay.
3) PayPal - more and more peolple want to pay with paypal, and that eats profits BAD.
4) The decline of the market.
I do believe you can get rich by using ebay but, if you live in acountry where the 'money is cheap compare to USD' youll get much better quicker
