Just to nitpick a bit, Canada does not have a significant population above the arctic circle since almost all Canadians live very close to the US border, which is far away from the arctic circle.

I doubt that even Alaska has a lot of people above the arctic circle.

Not that Finland does either, so probably not relevant in the whole picture, but still.

For a real warranty over 1 year you still need to purchase an AppleCare plan. That gets you full and direct Apple support, and more importantly there is no burden of proof on the buyer to prove that the product was defective at the time of sale.

The burden of proof is on the seller for the first 6 months,

The depends on your country. In Sweden we have the first year where the seller needs to prove that the defect was not there at time of sale, and then the burden of proof shift to the buyer for year 2.
I practice this usually means in Sweden that for stuff that costs less than 1500SEK (about $200) they just send you a replacement if you say it was broken in the first year since it would cost more to test it than send you a new one.

-And you are allowed to use the line for whatever you want, including reselling?

We share the line between 238 apartments. Which works out to less $10, for what is effectively almost always 100/100Mbit (I bet your line is also oversubscribed at your internet provider). So actually, our cost is 1/4 of yours :).

I am not GP but I am familiar with his ISP (or similar, I don't know exactly what ISP he has, although I can guess). To answer your questions in order:

No (It says that "overuse" is not allowed in the terms, but I have never heard that clause being enacted)
No (But it in practice you have 100/100 available at all times from at least local service providers)
No you cannot resell the line.

How did this even come to pass?

Sweden is part of the UN but not NATO, Sweden it supposedly a neutral country when it comes to military matters.
