Just to nitpick a bit, Canada does not have a significant population above the arctic circle since almost all Canadians live very close to the US border, which is far away from the arctic circle.
I doubt that even Alaska has a lot of people above the arctic circle.
Not that Finland does either, so probably not relevant in the whole picture, but still.
For a real warranty over 1 year you still need to purchase an AppleCare plan. That gets you full and direct Apple support, and more importantly there is no burden of proof on the buyer to prove that the product was defective at the time of sale.
The burden of proof is on the seller for the first 6 months,
The depends on your country. In Sweden we have the first year where the seller needs to prove that the defect was not there at time of sale, and then the burden of proof shift to the buyer for year 2. I practice this usually means in Sweden that for stuff that costs less than 1500SEK (about $200) they just send you a replacement if you say it was broken in the first year since it would cost more to test it than send you a new one.
Perhaps they can check the fibers and see if they are too worn? Perhaps they can separate the fibers in the manufacturing process depending on how worn they are? There are probably any number of ways they can check this without knowing exactly how many time any given piece of paper or cardboard have been recycled..
To be fair, "The World" in The World Series doesn't mean what you probably think it means. As I understand it it refers to a newspaper that sponsored the first World Series which was named "The World".
-And they wouldn't complain if you used it 100% 24/7? -And you are guarantied to always have 100Mbit available? -And you are allowed to use the line for whatever you want, including reselling?
We share the line between 238 apartments. Which works out to less $10, for what is effectively almost always 100/100Mbit (I bet your line is also oversubscribed at your internet provider). So actually, our cost is 1/4 of yours:).
I am not GP but I am familiar with his ISP (or similar, I don't know exactly what ISP he has, although I can guess). To answer your questions in order:
No (It says that "overuse" is not allowed in the terms, but I have never heard that clause being enacted) No (But it in practice you have 100/100 available at all times from at least local service providers) No you cannot resell the line.
Why not, it's been done quite a bit in the past. It's not like US corporations respect national borders and local laws.
I watched that whole event develop in utter disbelief. How in the hell did they get away with that? Forgive me, but it's one thing when Uncle Sam invades middle eastern countries to look for "terrorists", or "WMD's" (READ: oil) but a north european country? Are Sweden not part of Nato and the UN? How did this even come to pass?
Sweden is part of the UN but not NATO, Sweden it supposedly a neutral country when it comes to military matters.
By the way, we spend far more on entitlements than defense. And defense is actually a constitutional duty of the government.
Defence may be the constitutional duty of the your government... But then your military have never done any defence in the last few hundred years or so. All it have done is attacking.
Because in almost every case it is not needful. You don't go and cut off the first joint of your right little toe just because it is possible you'll get an in-grown toe nail some time later in you life, do you?
Actually, in sweden, you as a driver are almost always held liable if you hit a person in the street. The argument is that you should drive in a way that you can safely stop should something unexpected, like a person, pop out onto the road.

Don't forget to get a spare Water Chip :)

I didn't know cloning was legal? :)

Just to nitpick a bit, Erlang was developed by Ericsson, not Sony.

An Intel gigabit CT desktop adapter will work. That's what I use in my setup.

Toronto Blue Jays, does pretty well so far this year.
No, really? Read the grand-grand-parent post. Why do people drop the SQL from PostgreSQL but not MySQL?
Perhaps because the word PostgreSQL is 10 characters long while MySQL is 5 characters long?

Any ethnic groups you'd like to exterminate too?
How about lawyers? Or polititians? (And yes, before anyone remarks on it, I know they are not ethnic groups, this is a joke...)
And how much of those $28 billion was in cash and how much of it was in licenses?
It is only illegal if she thinks your naked self is obscene ;)
No, many people in those countries have a rather recent reason to hate americans, thats all.
Except in this case nobody has stolen anything, someone has committed copyright infrignment. Not quite the same...

I would argue that a sock is nothing more than a tangled web of string, so there might definately be something in what gp says...
There is virtualization of 3D hardware in the current beta for VMWare Workstation 6.5.
