A billion dollars for Hubble is a drop in the bucket compared to Iraq. The new telescope you speak of can't replace Hubble (it only sees infrared whereas Hubble can view much more than the IR spectrum)...and since when was being ready a concern for the Bush administration (you go to war with the army you have...)?
I thought you all said we were just there to steal the oil. Guess you were full of sh*t then too.
and I thought Bush said we were there for some WMD...or was it Al Qaeda...or was it because Saddam was a Bad Man(tm)? It goes both ways, pal.
Where is this "It's cool to hate Bush" crap coming from? The only people I ever hear it from are his supporters. It's starting to seem like they're getting desperate hunting for reasons why someone might not like him. Stop hunting for conspiracies where there aren't any. Your guy won (not by enough to be a "mandate" however), now quit being such sore winners.
It doesn't matter how "credible" someone is if they won't tell you where they stand.

Speaking of MS' VDM. I always had trouble with it and MSN Messenger. When switching desktops it'd draw the chat windows all funny. I can't recall specifics, sadly.//not a troll, honest!:)
If you use Nlite to remove IE and the IE Core from Win 2000/XP/2003 then not even the explorer.exe+address bar trick will work. IE is truly removed in this case.
As a side note, IE and the core are listed separately because removing the core (mshtml.dll or whatever it's called) breaks some things like activation, automatic updates, etc.
Then the copies of WinXP in the university computer labs are broken, as every user (or at least I:)) can access any other user's data. Perhaps it's a setting somewhere in the registry?
Perhaps the news channels should stop censoring themselves and give us all the gory details. Maybe then people would be less enthusiastic about sending their friends, family, and neighbors to die...
I can't speak for the *board* game, but both PC versions of Risk split the US into Western and Eastern sections. Well, the first version ("Ultimate Risk") includes several game maps in addition to the "classic" map (Europe, North America, and the south-eastern portion of Asia, and a "World" map). In the World Map the US is split into "United States of America," "Louisiana" "Rocky Mountains" and "California".
You should check out on of the PC games some time. The AI isn't the greatest, but it has the amazing capability to infuriate you so much by foiling your plans with some of the dumbest strategies...
Some people prefer KDE to the standard "explorer" shell*, but would rather run in Windows to get the increased compatibility with programs (most likely games). Maybe there are only two people that want this, though...(me and the GP).
*Yes yes, shell != window manager, etc etc. You know what I mean.:)
Look, we're reading and posting on Slashdot. How much more worthless could our time be? :)
Fine, but do keep in mind it costs more to kill them than to keep them in jail for life.

Assuming that figure is correct, how exactly does this make what Bush did OK?

Wait, isn't Neoplanet based off IE and thus susceptible to its flaws? I thought it used to be, but maybe that's changed.
every now and then I see something dumb, like an installer that has a 16-bit stub somewhere.
:D
Let me guess, Installshield, right?

The only solution is to hide deep underground where the lasers can't reach you.
:)
So hide in your parents' basement, then?
I went so far as to buy a Hori gamepad from Japan for my GBPlayer needs. It works beautifully. :)
It really didn't make any sense when I read that as "or a $5.00 fine". :)

A rate of 20-30 bugs per 1000 lines would render most programs unusable.
:-)
:)
Sounds like Windows to me!
It's a joke, laugh.

Play C&C or C&CRA. TS sucks horribly and RA2 can't really compete with the older two games (but was much better than TS). Just MHO, though..
installing a 5 year old OS which updates moves slower than a snail and is known for it's friendly and helpfull userbase, that is REAL masochism.
;)
Wait, where you talking about Win2000 or Debian?
C&C: Generals and C&C:RA2 != C&C and C&C:RA :)
Sir, I salute you! Nicely done (assuming that was from memory...
It could also be from Futurama...
When democracy is at stake, no price is too high. :)
The entire Legacy of Kain series also has excellent voice talent (and the dialogue itself is among the best I've ever seen in a video game).
