Ive been thinking about picking one of these babies up to use as an HTPC (not for recording...just for playback). Has anyone out there puchased one for this purpose and have any experience using these systems for it?

Seriously, I just dont understand this kind of petty theft. Why the hell would you even do something like this? How much are you really talking about saving here?
Even the individuals mentioned in the article: There are easier ways (and probably more profitable too) to make that kind of money.
You might want to try one before you knock it. I thought the exact same thing when I bought mine over a year ago (i was already planning on returning it when I bought it). After spending a couple hours with it I couldnt give it up.
The best media center kb/mouse combo I have seen is the Gyration (http://www.gyration.com/)
I have not tried the new media center combo yet, but the old GT combo (mini kb and gyroscopic mouse) is excellent. That mouse is THE single best mouse I have ever used. The kb is a little shoddy but the mouse is extremely well built.
I also heard a buy bragging the other day about his 400 gig drive with only 20 gigs free because he filled it with movies.
Thats the line that gets me ALL the chicks.
Ive though about his alot since rumors started circulating about a film based on Watchmen and I just dont see how a two hour film can do justice to the book. Just some of the central themes could take well more than two hours to hash out (much less the complexities of the story). Ive always thought a Sci-fi channel mini-series would be more appropriate.
They dont gave to. Any censoring they do is done by the network itself.
In other words if its cable it depends on the standards the network has in place.

This legislation seems so broad, that it seems they could ban just about any device on a whim.
