Canon has been using the same principle in a couple of lenses for some time now. The lenses themselves are pretty damn expensive but well regarded; I hope the telescope meets similar success.
>The fact it's the best laptop available right now?
subjective call. it's not the best laptop for me because the screen is too big for my needs/wants.
>The fact it's the first Core Duo based portable in the world?
It's not, actually. A number were revealed at CES, and covered on Engadget. (you'll want to scroll down)
>The fact it's the first with a magnetically attached power cord?
I'll give you this one; that's pretty damn cool.
>The fact it's only an inch thick?
Also cool, but other manufacturers are also doing it. Both Sony and IBM have thinner ones (with numerous compromises). Being an inch thick with all the features it brings is new.
>And it's got a webcam built in to the screen?
Acer, Sony and Asus have been doing this one before, too.
parent used 20 cubic feet, when he should have used 1280 cubic feet as the volume of a container.

It was the first Death book that came to mind. I like the Watch books the most, too - I think my least favorite ones are the Rincewind books.

I think it's more that it's the first in the series, because stuff that came afterwards (Small Gods, Hogfather, and Men At Arms come to mind) is, IMO, a lot better.
they've got different approaches - the Zen Vision is a video player first and also a music player, where the new iPod is a music player with a large, video-capable screen, like the old iRiver H320.

Oh, never mind the long explanation, then -- you know all about scams. The joke going around is that the "r" variable passed in your URL stands for "retard."
I got an iPod from them already, so I'm fairly sure they're legitimate...
I don't think most people actually do fill the iPod; I remember reading the results of a poll saying that people had, on average, 375 songs on their MP3 players....here's the link if you're interested: "375 Tunes in My Pocket[pdf]
if this goes through, would it mean that the lawsuits filed using the same language would also have to be dropped, or would that depend on the other lawyers citing this precedent?
am I the only person who thought, solely from reading the title, that someone had installed Ubuntu on a penguin, and that the installation had caused the penguin to lose it?

They're using Quad-core Xeons, actually; the C2Q doesn't allow for multi-processor usage.

wouldn't it be run through Rosetta, thus having the x86 processor emulate a PPC processor that's emulating an x86?

I dunno what the hell cookbooks you've been reading, but I'd love to find out...
I dunno about that... I've tossed a few laptop keys and they've gone a fair distance.

from looking at iLounge's "unpacking" articles, it's apparent that this isn't a new phenomenon.
I'm surprised that you're only being outraged _now_.
The white headphones are crap. I'd say it's because people are too lazy to buy other ones.
none of the other iMacs have the IR port in the front, so I'm not surprised.
but there is wireless*, and it's got way more space than the nomad. *the new docks have an IR port for a remote.

maybe it's the end of something, perhaps the last line of G4books, or single-core G5s.
but what're they selling to make up for said loss?

the ITMS could be a large source of revenue for Apple, while not being a large source of profit. iPods, however, are probably both.

...does it run OSX-86?
