They are giving out cases because the media has helped build the perception that there is a problem with reception on the phone. The free bumper is for people who aren't going to read about this event. Even if you look at the article on cnn.com right now, they miss the point.
I'm an Apple customer, and I do not like being treated like an idiot. I do like seeing Apple defend themselves against idiotic claims and faulty "tests" that mean nothing.
No, they said some people might have the problem that everyone's been blowing out of proportion. But only.5% (not 5 percent, half a percent) of users have even reported the problem.
Most of the people foaming at the mouth about this don't even have iPhones, they just want to see Apple fail.
Because these people have been so loud, the perception is that most people are having reception problems, which is simply not true. For most people the reception is better.
Because the media has created this perception, Apple is giving everyone free Bumpers.
Sure, but the contract doesn't state that you have to accept those changes. As the parent said, they could "grandfather" your account until the term is up, which is what most of these providers would do, or if they stupidly decided to not give you that option, you could just not accept the changes and cancel the account with no early termination penalty.
The iPad is unlocked. You can get a sim from Tmobile and put it in there. The problem is that T-mobiles 3g is not compatible with the iPad, so it can only use the slower speed connection. But it is unlocked and can be used with any compatible 3g provider.
The user's ability to multitask is not what is being questioned. Just because someone chooses to focus on one thing doesn't mean they want all of their other programs to halt while they do so.
Prime example: I was listening to This American Life the other night on my iPod Touch. Someone played a word in "Words with Friends (Scrabble)". Without thinking I switched to Words with Friends, and my audio from This American Life died.
How is this over the line?
You understand that iAd is an opportunity for developers to use ads in their (generally) free applications to support revenue. The ads are already there, it's just easier on the developers now.
I don't know exactly how the retailer gets this information, but CC alone is enough for them to get your address.
This happened to me recently. I went to a local "dollar store" for the first time recently and purchased a Coca-cola with my credit card.
About a week or two later I received an ad from the store addressed to me (not Current Resident). The only way they could have gotten my address was from the credit card company.
That security hole has been closed for a while, which is why you can find people trying to downgrade their iPhones back to 1.1.1 which will reintroduce the security hole, allowing them to jailbreak their phones again.
The phones were infected when users who had already intentionally jailbroken their phones downloaded a new application from an unsafe software repository.
Most of those customers with zero iTMS tracks care less about DRM and more about not paying for music. I've had at least 10 people approach me over the last year and ask me where they can download music. If I tell them they can use the iTMS and it's only 99c a track, they roll their eyes and tell me they are looking for somewhere to download free music. Not one has said they don't want to use iTMS because of DRM restrictions.
The problem I see with this is :
"A progressive Christian reads the Bible and understands it for what it is, a collection of parables and rarely historical accounts of actual events, the purpose of which is to always illustrate a point that God is actively involved in his creation, encouraging trust in him (which means believing his word i.e. believing that he has done or will do what he has promised)."
That is how you see it as it is. Many do not. Who are you to say that you are right and they are wrong. Their beliefs are every bit as strong as yours.
The problem is that so many people can ignore these mistranslations. People believe this book with all of their being. I must assume that most of them have never read it. People talk about muslim suicide bombers, but there are plenty of Christian terrorists as well. People bombing abortion clinics for example.
Not believing in something that there is no evidence for is not being a bigot. That's like saying that most Christians are bigoted because they don't believe the Koran. Christians teach every day that if you are not a Christian you are going to hell. For those of us who don't have blind faith, it is very tiring to hear about how Christians are going to pray for us, etc...
Not many religions respect other people's beliefs. Don't expect that from the non-religious either.
Not only that but OS X 10.2 is a very different beast than 10.4 and even 10.3. On the surface most of it is similar, however with each major update much of the backend has been modified.

Uhhh...You DO know that Apple owns over 90% of the HDD based PMPs and more than 70% of ALL PMPs, yes?
Woah, they should start selling some of those. I can't imagine why they'd be sitting on that many of them.

It's amazing the way you NOTICE TWO THINGS.

paradoxical dysaesthesia is hot.
Apple is a company, not a product.
That is not true. Tropical Storms are named. Subtropical storms have also been named since 2002.

Read Deuteronomy 13 and then mod parent up.

Ok, but who would do that when you could just sell your daughter?
Exodus 21:7 And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do.
it also says not to beat your slaves too hard...

Best way to hold babies? Pitchforks.
They don't. The G5 is a PowerPC. (Official name is PowerMac G5). The newer Mac Pro is an Intel Xeon.
