It is so with many good companies in India. I was lucky to have had to appear in four only (with success - hence, lucky:) ) Not getting the job after 13 interviews would suck - but, that's the way it is when you want to work for the best among the best companies. Usually you'll find your colleagues to be smart, and with good disposition. It's worth it some times.
I know it ain't gonna happen, but, who would like to have half a km big asterior around us revolving in the geo sync orbit near by out other satelites - please raise your hand.
`` Being fair, they also present Microsoft's solution to security problems: 'Microsoft does have one suggestion for those who cannot use the latest patches in Service Pack 2: buy a new personal computer'" ''
That was being unfair. Being fair, according to TFA, Microsoft's solution to the security problems is to upgrade to the latest windows OS, i.e. XP. Not buy a new comp. Still not a solution per se. But, it's different from buying a new machine.
Now if you say that Microsoft's solution is to upgrade to a newer OS which is better suited to the problems of current time - it doesn't sound that bad - does it? hence it must be said that "microsoft wants you to buy a new comp". It doesn't even make sense. Buying a new comp will not solve the problems - it's a software problem not a hardware problem. Doesn't matter. it'll still run, because it shows microsoft.. err.. Micro$oft if you prefer, in bad light. It'll run.
All these are the reason I don't read newspaper anymore. You don't know what is the fact after reading them - why take time off from fragging a few more fat tailed animals in UT.
IBM laptops are made in china anyways. What difference does it make? I'd imagine the company which buys ibm pc division would try to make the most of it by retaining the quality of the laptop so that it can sell them in the same potential market. Otherwise it kinda defeats the whole purpose of buying the PC division.
Another misuse of modpoint. If you guys had any sense, you'd mod parent insightful instead of the grampa. grampa didn't make sense, that is why he got offtopic, parent made sense, that is why he/she should get insightful. Anyways. I don't have very high hopes from slashdot mods. They'll probably mod parent high now, but, not me:( not that i am asking. but...
We already have nitro sources. Earlier we had love-sources. There will always be some fork that will patch the kernel to hell and some people will use for some reason or the other. But, many will stay away because, they prefer to use a mainstream kernel which is likely to be more stable and for which support is readily available.
You can use the trial license for a month, you don't have to pay a buck. I believe the comparision can be done in a month. Therefore, I suspect using a older version is intensional.
While the performance difference might not be HUGE with vmware 4.5, the margin by which Xen is better than vmware is small indeed. vmware latest might be faster.
if your answer explaining Gentoo's greateness is "recompiling everything from scratch to update", then you didn't understand the question.
It's not. It's just the only thing that other distro users can attack gentoo about. They can't attack gentoo for the USE flags, or the latest package offering or the exceptionally helpful community members - can they ?
Not if you are using NVIDIA twinview feature. Atleast glxgear doesn't show any decrease. Nor does "top". I switched to 2 monitors last satday and there was no decrease in X performance.
It'll not be extortion if you don't ask the money to decrypt. It's about separating the accidents from attempts to crack.
"How did you end up with a garbled home directory?" 1. "I TYPED A CHARACTER WRONG" "oh I am sorry, to be able to provide you quality customer support, can I have your 24 digit serial number and name please?"
2. "Umm I was guessing your s/n" "really? that is called piracy you know, if you don't have a s/n" "I HAVE the number, couldn't find it at that time, I'll call you back once I get it, YOU THINK I AM STEALING YOUR SOFTWARE?"
Although they say this is either kde or gnome, to me it looks like enligthenment with winter theme. But, I haven't been able to get xorg to work properly with enlightenment so far. For me it leaves bad garbage on the screen.

that it's dupe. can't pull it out right now, but, it's a few months old. No one said that before 'cause i guess it's better than 1day old dupe.
wtf is detiorate? isn't it deteriorate?

I always imagined /. readers are a bunch of unruly teenagers who never got a date - so spend time here.
I am surprised that you still have internet connection and power line working.

but, you realize that tabbing and pop up blocking features of firefox sells better than "it's fast", don't you ?

Just not fair to compare it with vmware workstation 3.2. vmware workstation 4.5 kicks ass.
Am I the only one to notice the name of the compiler is Jan Wong? By no means I discredit the article completely, but, add salt to your taste ;)

no wonder jobs are exported because, this country is filled with sooo inquisitive scientists.
yes, especially because, "No one gets fired for choosing IBM" while if you build your own RAID, you might get.
that would surely be
Hell World.
"I'm not sure I want to think about monkeys banging their typewriters..."
and what you definitely don't want to think about is, you are the end product of it.
you mean inside the flag?
The building is going to cost 50M. They will need to raise fund from other sources.

You mean with xcompmgr -c and xorg 6.8 ?
