Going through the pictures, this one (http://www.scaled.com/projects/tierone/photos/ima ges/video/14p_1b.jpg) taken at 200k ft is breath taking, however lossy in quality. I couldn't imagine what 328k ft would look like.
The keygen(a very very very popular one) generates product keys in the range 640-645.
My PID is XXXXX-648-XXXXXXX-XXXXX
and it was done with the original key gen that was put out;-)
I suspect that Microsoft WILL be blacklisting more keys, but I doubt they'll get everyone, it's nearly impossible.
And yes, I'm running Corporate with SP1 applied, with my own genned key. Come get me MS.
Sounds like progress to me. Mr Valenti sounded like he was willing to listen and do something about this.
I believe he was just saving face.
A legal DVD player for Linux would be bad. Right now, they aren't coming after home users for watching CSS encrypted DVDs on their linux boxen. It is impossible to do! They would require in house inspections, etc. If such a player was released, they would try to crack down, and then they could have the arguement that "We've made one, so use it." even if the player is utter shit.
However, an addition to the DCMA, or whatever it would be required. Something along the lines of decryption for the sole purpose of realtime playback, by any means would work quite well.
Does this mean if I lived out in the 'country', and my neighbours had nodes, or a corporate sponsership program was setup, internet would be readily available?

I *would* imagine you could come up with a variety of uses, since you are a/. reader, but because you decided to make the front page, I hereby revoke your/. UID.
The fact that someone can post something that would NORMALLY be modded troll, but since they say 'Oh, I've earned for xth troll mod for the day.', they get modded up, whilst other opinions/facts are more deserving of the mod points.
Well, speak for yourself. Last year I got a NEW computer. (XP 2200+) My previous box was a Pentium 1 w/ MMX, 233Mhz w/ 32mb ram.
Not everyone can drop X amount of dollars on a mac. PCs are can be ~$300 (www.robotnik.com). Now, do I get a 2.4Ghz Celeron for $300, or a $1700 Mac... hmmm.
The only viable alternative to Windows IS Linux, because with Apple's offerings, you need new hardware. With Linux you pop in a cd, install, etc and you're good to go (yes, very simplified). With Apple's offerings you go to the local Best Buy, or Fry's or Futureshop or whatever, and drop a couple grand on a new computer.
It's been stated before that people like free stuff. Linux is free. Mac OS X is not free. (if you're talking beer)
Telemarketers were around in '69. Because if they were, they might have thought that the internet, or whatever they called it (I didn't RTF RFC) wouldn't become a haven for such evil things such as spam, and worms.
It just saddens me to see that they could be carefree back then, not worrying about anything... and us having to pay the fucking piper. *sigh*

If X is less than the cost of a recall, we don't do one."
Microsoft learned some hard lessons from the X-Box. They were selling them at a loss, and then people started to put linux on them, or putting a larger hard drive into it and a new dashboard. They could copy the games onto the harddrive, and not need the DVD.
I doubt they're going to do something idiotic again, but... it is microsoft...
It's not the same as Skype. Skype = P2P VoIP

Any *nix person would know that ~ is better to use than $home. Just a friendly reminder.

Thanks for standing up for me. I copied that link directly from the site, and I double checked it in my firefox download manager.
Kazaa Lite Resurrection. Basically a continuation of the KL project. If you MUST use Kazaa, use this.

Would this involve the sort of things in Metal Gear Solid? Such as nanocommunication, via thoughts, and controlling of medication amoung other things?

I'd get to the point where I'd throw the damn thing out the window, only to realize a day later I should have typed:
OPEN THE NORTH DOOR
*sigh* Damn Infocom.
And how is getting rid of the pr0n a bad thing?
But doesn't this seem a tad bit like Lego's Mindstorms products?
All we'd see on the screen would be:
Buffering
Even though it's on the damn player, we'd still see it.

(honest question, seriously)
Oit!
I gave him some bloody suggestions!

Lawsuit. Sapphire is also a company that makes videocards. After Tyco's legal troubles I doubt they want another lawsuit on their hands.

It just isn't feasable.
