Are you actually using a 10 year old box? I just replaced my 10 year old machine because the wait for the screen to refresh when scrolling got too annoying. The fact the the motherboard only recognized 3 Gigs of memory might have had something to do with it but the $500 I spent for a new acer was well spent. With an i5 processor, 16 Gigs of memory, 2 TB data drive and 96 Gig SSD I'm ready for the next ten years.

If a business has competition prices are rock bottom. The one that sells the cheapest sets the price the others have to take. If they have to pay added taxes each will raise their prices in lockstep. Virtual monopolies like Apple and Microsoft are charging what the market will bear and will just have to eat higher taxes.
The cure for corporations dodging taxes is to charge for the income earned by being in the US. Figure out what they earned and bill them an appropriate tax. Do not let them play games with expenses and paper loses. They don't pay, seize some property. No corporation will abandon the US markets for a few percentage points in extra taxes.

We had to crank a small tractor and let it idle along in gear while we walked behind it tossing the roots into a cart it was pulling.

I did drive it on a short trip. Yes, it was quick and maneuverable but had a tricky gear shift. I went to pull away from a stop sign onto a main highway and couldn't because I had it in third gear. Multiple tries to find first resulted in reverse or third. When I finally got it in first I almost pulled out without looking for traffic again. That and the whole time my wife was complaining about being hot.
The same with computers and cellphones. Windows computers and Android phones are much more affordable and give me good service. No need to try Apple devices.
If manufacturing does not create jobs then the countries that now manufacture our goods shouldn't mind if we block their imports and make our own stuff. Of course they scream bloody murder when we just talk about it. Manufacturing might be automated but proving the raw materials and factory buildings creates multiple jobs. Just making our own cellphones would drop unemployment 10%.

I was finally seen by a male doctor who immediately proscribed 200 mg. I had to quit work at 56 because I felt so horrible. That one shot made me feel wonderful for a month. Unfortunately he left the country and I have been trying to find a doctor that will proscribe testosterone for four months.

The US has a very large economy, our exports are a fraction of our imports. Much of what we export has very little labor involved, mostly raw materials and intellectual property. These do not exclusively go to China so they would be on the very short end of a trade war.
Most countries do not have the tax collecting structure or individual wealth the US has. High taxes on imported goods and fuels are for revenue generation, not protection of domestic production.
Companies that have competition charge as little as possible to keep market share. There is no collusion to keep prices low. If taxes are raised they all have to raise prices to continue to eke out a small profit. Apple is a virtual monopoly, they are charging as much as the market will bear, raising taxes will lower their profits.
First let's compare the white US population with the almost entirely white populations of Sweden, Norway, New Zealand and so forth. I think quality of life for that segment of the population is just as good. We have over 60,000 border control agents trying (mostly unsuccessfully) to keep people out so the US must be a very sought after place to immigrate to.
