    I seem to recall that the thing that really saps the energy effeciency of an electrolosis/Fuel Cell system is the energy cost involved in either compressing or liquefying the hydrogen gas.

    I have read about something that allows several "Noisy" Frames to be cleared up into a single clearer one. I believe it was used to read a license plate seen by an ATM camera.

    I think I read about it in Popular Science or Popular Mechanics (Not sure though)

    IIRC, Turtle Beach 5.1 sound cards have a "Versa-jack" that can function as Line-out 3, (Center/Sub IIRC) Line-in 2, or SP/DIF out. all you need is to convert the minijack to a single RCA connector. (The right channel on a stereo one might work

    same applies to Creative Live Series, look on the back panel. Live cards also support third-party add-ons that include the functions you desire directly

    If they don't get a bounce message, they try jdoe1@*

    but in some ways it works against them.

    because you can get spam even if you never post your address, spam filtering software companies can set up honeypots, that are soon innundated with spam, and they know it's all spam, because they never told anyone about the address.

    you should likely get a certain amount of storage on the campus computer network, (so you can access yout term paper from the desktops in the library,) and that would, of course, be the ideal primary backup location.

    but worst case scenario, if you go to a school that requires a PC for admission, the fact that there isn't a desktop on the desk indicates you must have a notebook, therefore, keep it in a hidden location, and most opportunists will assume that you have taken the notebook with you. Or of course you could bring a desktop as well.

    Do as the business travelers do, If you carry a laptop, keep it in a bag that will protect it from falls, and always keep the bag where you can see it.

    Usually It's also better to put the shoulder strap over your head, (as in bag on left hip, strap across right shoulder)

    The laptop bags Compaq has been handing out to teachers and students lately seem to be following the trend of not having any logos or brand names on it that scream "Laptop Bag!"

    You could do that even faster using Windows Key+R to bring up the run dialog box.

    Personally, I prefer the eraser-head type pointers, (but only in the middle of the keyboard, because I can use them without moving my hand away from the keyboard

    Of course I never understood why using "Start -- Suut down -- turn off the computer" and then closing the lid would cause windows XP to hibernate, and when I powered up again later, it booted, finished shutting down and turned off.

    Windows 95 and 98 did NOT have home directories.

    there was one and only one "My Documents" folder.

    Windows NT on the other hand had c:\documents and settings\~username\my documents

    Any artist who writes a song then owns the song.

    A record contract makes the artist an employee on a work-for-hire basis and therefore the work belongs to the record label, not the artist.

    Umm, there already is (a format war over HD-DVD)
    Microsoft WMV9, only 9 GB, only plays on PC
    Blue-ray from the Sony Camp
    and HD-DVD from the council that created the original DVD Standards.

    A Multi read CD-ROM can read anything up to 700 MB on a 5 inch disk, including:

    VCD, Kodak photo CD, ISO 9660 Data, Philips Red Book CD Audio... the list goes on and on...

    but CD-R disks are still on the market and all the newest DVD Burners can still read and write to CD R/RW disks

    for you personally, I'd say, if you have a real need for 4.7 GB capacity, especially since DVD blanks cost about as much as an equivalent number of CD's (By my calculations, 7, when dealing with movies compressed to fit on a single overburned, (700 MB/80 Min.) CD-R

    $.10 is the cheapese I have ever seen brand name CD-R's sell for.

    DVD-R's recently hit the $1.00 mark

    AFAIK, All backward compatible at least on the read side, (able to read older formats, but not able to record them.)

    You would think all these 6 and 7 figure salaried geniuses would take a look at history and see that in the technology world, free and open standards almost always win out over closed, patented and licensed technologies:

    Rambus Vs. DDR
    Micro-channel vs. ISA, PCI, AGP, and now PCI express
    IBM PC Vs. Commodore/Amiga, Timex-Sinclair, Heck even Apple!
    Ethernet Vs. all comers
    Anything that conforms to an IEEE Standard, (Firewire, Wireless ethernet, ETC.

    I'm sure there are a few more...
