  1. Yeah, right. on Centrino-based Linux Laptops · · Score: 1, Troll

Kind of patronizing, no? What a joke, the idea that only now is linux 'mature' enough to be allowed next to the oh-so-holy Centrino brand. They are very, very clearly insensitive clods.

  2. Re:Oops... on Bizarre Deep Sea Fish Dredged Up By Tsunami · · Score: 1

Well the actual wave doesn't affect the deep sea, but when the tsunami gets to shallower water, the volume of water that comprises it has to come from somewhere, usually this created a "sucking" force that has been known to bring up things from deeper parts of the ocean.

    You insensitive clod!
The story says nothing about being 'washed' up, it says 'dredged', which means the waves pulled the creatures up from depths that they normally live at to depths where human divers can access.

  9. A little pricy, but excellent on Advice On Notebook Backpacks? · · Score: 5, Informative

I use the Jinx backpack: Jinx Laptop backpack its $80 but i feel like it was well worth it. it has all the room for the extra stuff, its really comfy, and I feel like it is keeping my dell lappy nice and secure. It sounds like we do similar things, airports, etc. If you are willing to spend it, go for this one. Scapermoya.

Sturm and Drang was a pre-romantic movement in Europe, somewhere around the 1780's i believe. Some of the famous Classical composers dabbled in it, I think Beethoven has a Sturm and Drang piece. It died quickly and gave rise to the Classical (then romantic) movement.
The name of the period comes from a play by Friedrich Klinger, I think it means "Storm and Urge"

Funny, we discussed this today in academic decathlon.

  14. Firefox on New Google Toolbar Brings Browse By Name · · Score: 1

Firefox does something way less techy than this already, typing words directly into the address bar uses google's Im Feeling Lucky feature to try and toss you in the right direction. Not based on a list of keywords, but pretty useful if you know what you are doing.

Has anyone else noticed this MoMA was started by Andrew 'bunnie' Huang? This guy is one of the formost underground experts on what has come to be called hardware hacking, and in that respect he is a genius. I seriously doubt that an MIT graduate of this caliber would let something stupid come to market, give this project some time. Plus, hes a regular /.er.
