Who is happy with their insurance? Premiums have been skyrocketing because insurance companies, hospitals, and doctors practically collude to hide the massive amounts of money that they move into their pocketbooks.
I'm still going with the theory that insurance premiums are high because doctors have to pay so much in malpractice insurance because we have so many frivolous malpractice lawsuits. If we stopped frivolous malpractice lawsuits, it would result in lowering our insurance premiums.
Maybe that's Carmack's "more recent comment", but the article mentions even more recent comments (at least, I assume they're more recent, since they mention DX10 and Rage).
From the article, Carmack said:
"Personally, I wouldn’t jump at something like DX10 right now. I would let things settle out a little bit and wait until there’s a really strong need for it."
And:
As John Carmack said when asked if Rage was a DirectX game, "It’s still OpenGL, although we obviously use a D3D-ish API [on the Xbox 360], and CG on the PS3. It’s interesting how little of the technology cares what API you’re using and what generation of the technology you’re on. You’ve got a small handful of files that care about what API they’re on, and millions of lines of code that are agnostic to the platform that they’re on."
True that! Same for LCDs being made with inkjet printer technology. How many times I've seen articles for both of these topics and yet we still don't actually have them!
Software is hardly foolproof. Believe me, I've had both software and ISP filtering and ISP filtering is much harder to get around. Granted, it would be best if the ISP offered both options so the user could choose which service they wanted, but the user has a choice of ISP so there is no reason an ISP shouldn't be allowed to offer filtered service.
What is your problem? You and the parent both! Get your facts right: Australia and the US are not banning porn. They are allowing people the right to choose to have porn blocked. There is a major difference. And I am all for having that choice.
But corn is something we already use very heavily. To find yet another high-use application for it means higher corn prices... which means higher prices on popcorn at the theater, higher prices on milk and beef which come from corn-fed cows, higher prices on chicken, etc.
I would think the ideal fuel would be easily replenished and not used for anything else. And since switchgrass is apparently much more efficient as well, it fits the bill perfectly!
I know! Can you believe it?

(Judging from comments and articles I've seen on here and on other blogs, it seems like a lot of people can't.:)
Or you can just get GCFScape, open "portal content.gcf" in the SteamApps folder, search for "still_alive", and save the interweb's bandwidths for Comcast.:-)
So if I believe that having a small, limited government is good (as the founding fathers did) and that capitalism (not unrestrained, but not heavily restricted either; just minimal intervention) is a good thing, just because you believe in Socialism or some other such system means that this article (having little to do with either of these beliefs) should not be accepted?
It's also a moral violation. I mean, anyone knows that what that guy was doing is wrong. He didn't, as he said, just "erase files or registry keys." He did so with the intent, and indeed with the followthrough, of printing out duplicates of the coupons which were obviously intended to be used once per person.
That just shows that they're overdue!
Indeed. If you want peace of mind, pay the fee. That is a "right wing capitalist value".
THAT'S THE ONE!
...I couldn't remember. Thanks for the assist!
...um... zing?

Padme really did die of a broken heart!

Sounds to me like he's still favoring OpenGL.
TOR is already stylized!

There's a big difference between successful trolling and just making yourself look like a complete idiot.
.....and thank you for showing us that difference.
That was a bit before my time. Well then, that restores in me some hope that one day we may actually benefit from these technologies.

Indeed. Thanks for the warning, DrunkenTerror.

Not to mention that you are wanting to ban me from having the choice to keep my children from viewing garbage on the internet.

Thing is, spawn camping is a good thing in a real war. :)

If you think the announcement was a significant and important story, wait 'til you read this comment!

They probably work at Verizon.

Wow.
